Edit: Do I still have chances to conceive this cycle???Can I assume I ovulated?

Okay so after googling a lot i am left a little confused whether to consider myself ovulating or not.though my results lie in normal range but its towards the lower side.anyone who can help me interpret the results?i am not going to the doc soon and this wait will drive me crazy.

My Progestrone levels are 4.64 ng/ml or 14.75 nmol/l

Please help with your levels and ur docs comments.thank you everyone:flower:

Mine were done on CD19 and were 65.5 nmol/L
I was concerned that it wouldn't be long enough after ov but it's a good result.
Here are the interpretations written exactly as they are on my test paper (I'm not sure they are the same worldwide but these are Polish accepted levels)

Folicular phase - should be between --- 0.85 and 8.26 nmol/L

Luteal phase - " " " --- 10.40 and 122.80 "

Middle period of Luteal phase (this is how it directly translates into English but I'm sure it means 7 DPO or CD21) Should be between --- 16.70 and 122.80

Menopause " " " --- 0.0 and 3.0

I've read though that above 10 is considered a natural ovulation but then others say above 15. In the UK they want to see it above 30.
I don't think this is going to clear it up any for you and a wait to see the Dr is the only way you'll know for sure.

thank you so much for the effort!:hugs:i know.. the figures are so confusing..even my report says that I lie in normal range but as far as i figured it out its low progesterone level and there is something wrong with the ovulation.Atleast I know there is some problem and needs to be addressed!feels like 8 months wasted though:cry:

Don't be too downhearted bubbub, there's many reasons why it could be low but many are easy to fix/improve too.
Good luck and fingers crossed for you x

Generally speaking there are standard normal levels that are accepted. I wouldn't think the Polish levels would be any more or less acceptable than UK or US levels listed as normal :)

From what I've read the general accepted levels are quite different from what the Dr's say - Already mentioned UK like to see over 30.
- Australia apparently it's 20-24
- Here in Poland I was told by the gynaecologist they prefer to see over 50 to be able sustain a pregnancy.

Ok let me rephrase, the normal levels are partly dictated by the equipment that's being used, by the labs, by the specific attributes set by the equipment itself. So it's not that the differences aren't accepted in various countries per se but if your individual report lists as normal then thats the commonly accepted value... does that make more sense ? I used to work in a lab lol

If the lab that did the bloodwork lists the level as normal, it's considered normal, BUT that doesn't mean that the accepted "normal" is what is ideal or wanted to be seen.

Maybe thats better ? :)

hey Ariannda:flower:so you are saying that I should (for now)go by the reference level mentioned on my report...i know what you mean by last sentence and probably that is why I am confused because noone is talking about same reference levels...:dohh:

Thanks loulou:hugs:I just hope that my low progesterone is the only problem(so easy too fix :D) and fingers crossed no major treatments required to get my BFP...ideal situation:dreaming:

But I think I am done trying. No motivation at all..ahhh

Yes, the reference levels listed on your report are the normal ranges for the lab, the equipment and what is considered as normal in your area (which is probably country wide accepted as normal). However that being said, i would talk to your doctor and see if you can't get it bumped up somehow.

Locally the common results are listed as
Progesterone levels during the menstrual cycle
Days 1-14:
Less than 1 nanogram per milliliter (ng/mL) or 0.5-2.3 nanomoles per liter (nmol/L) (note there is a less than as well as a normal range, both would be acceptable)

Days 15-28:
2-25 ng/mL or 6.4-79.5 nmol/L

So it's actually high for some locally listed results. Vitamin C alone can increase progesterone levels. If you're on a prenatal vitamin it should contain lots of supplements that can increase progesterone.

Hey Thanks :hugs:I actually have same reference levels mentioned on my report(day 15-28:2-25 ng/mL) which makes me fall in normal range.

But I guess you are right in saying that i should see my doctor n get it bumped up.I think I cant get pregnant this cycle with low progesterone hence waiting to go to the doc is no issue?right?

Thanks so much for your insight.I had been struggling to get this issue straight the whole time:sigh:

I would assume that you can in theory get pregnant. I dont think ive had a progesterone drawn so i can't compare with you im afraid :) I wouldn't necessarily go to the doctor immediately, but i'd maybe be thinking about scheduling an appointment for multiple reasons. Have you had any other bloodwork or tests run ? DH had anything drawn ?
(we may have been over this but i have ADD and forget a lot ;) )

:thumbup:I will get my appointment once i have my test results from cd3 next cycle hence the delay...already got a letter from my doc to get the tests done..but:dohh:I ovulated so late and turns out its gonna be a 40 day cycle..gosh!

Makes complete sense Ariannda - thanks for clarifying :)

My fingers are crossed for you bubbub.
Try to retain your motivation and positivity - maybe a little break until you see the GP and complete all tests will be what you need. The unknown is a scary place and at the moment you don't even know if there is anything to worry about - it could very well be nothing.
Do you know exactly when you had ov through monitoring? so you definitely know when you are 7dpo? if not then your result could be low because it hadn't had time to rise yet (test too early) if it was done later though it should have been ok (I'm not positive if it would dip or stay the same, someone more knowledgeable could maybe clarify this) as the level doesn't drastically drop until AF or just before.
