I haven't had any heartburn - am I realy going to have a bald baby?

Baby moves ALOT - is this going to be the same outside? Are active womb babies active babies once they are born?

Can I drive myself to hospital when I go into labour?

I'm sure i'll think of more - I'll be back! :flower:

Well I don't know about the last two, but my friend has 3 kids and all were born with loads of hair and she never suffered with heartburn once. I think it's just an old wives tale

Second thoughts though, the last one, I doubt you'd be able to drive yourself to hospital. I saw my friend in labour (before she went to hospital) and there's no way she could've driven... although I suppose everyones different?

heartburn=hairy baby = old wives tale!
active baby inside=active baby outside = again old wives tale
driving during labour, depends on if your lucky enough to have quite an easy labour but it isnt recommended due to contractions can cause distractions whilst driving. xx

I haven't had any heartburn as well.
But please don't believe everything you hear.

my little girl cousins would NOT come to me a few months ago and everyone said "oh the girls don't like you (which they usually do) you're going to have a BOY... WRONG I am having a girl actually.

lol you're going to hear tons of different old wives tales it'll drive you crazy.

also.. my baby is moving around a lot as well, so I was thinking the same thing, will they be this active once they're born, but so many women has answered this and said it was the total opposite once baby was born

I'd say you probably shouldn't drive yourself cos if you had a contraction, the pain could cause you to have an accident and also, cos you'll be in labour, no matter how hard you try, your full attention won't be on the road and driving, especially if you have to wait til your contractions are 5 mins apart before going to hospital.

I haven't had any heartburn yet *touch wood* but its an old wives tale so doesn't mean you'll have a bald baby :)

Thanks ladies!!

I hope I don't get a bald baby :( And I hope its not up 24-7 but what will be will be I guess!!!

And I won't plan to drive myself to hospital! :)

My OH's mum said the same thing - because his little neice sticks to me she says i'm having a girl. I don't know yet but I guess its just an old wives tale!

Hair/heart burn-Old wives tale not true. I had tons of heart burn with my bald babies.

Active in = active out, could be. My DD was active in and is active out. My DS was less active in and is less active out too. My DD was very active from 11pm until 2 or 3 am inutero and was for the first 2 months of life as well. Oi! It wiped me out. But my friend had a very active little guy inside and he loves just hanging out and not doing much since birth.

Can you drive yourself? Maybe, maybe not. It depends on what stage of labor you are in and how you are handling the pain. I could have driven myself both of the other times, but likely wouldn't have been concentrating on the road as much as I should have. My water broke with my second so I only had one contraction before starting the drive. However on the 45 min drive there they were 2-3 min apart when we arrived. My early contractions are more uncomfortable than killer pain. However I think I would have been thinking about timing/spacing between than if the light was green or red on the traffic light. Better to let someone else drive or take a taxi if you can.

Love the questions. I was tempted to walk to the hospital with our first as we lived in a small town at the time... my DH was the voice of reason and said that I would likely not want to walk home after and it would be easier to have the car there to go home. Sure enough it snowed that night and I was so exhausted that there is no way I would have wanted to walk home after. LOL! The crazy things you do when in labor and are hyped up on adrenaline. The second time my water broke and there was no question that it in fact had broke. There is no way I could pee that much! We debated about if we should go to the hospital or not or if we should call my mom to watch our DD just yet. Good thing we did call my mom and the hospital. The hospital told us to come get checked and my mom was there an hour later. Had we waited at home later it might have been a mad dash to the hospital. Kinda scared at how fast I will progress this time. My labors have both been under 6 hours. The Dr thinks this time will take even less time. First signs of labor and I have to call my mom to drive over.

Thank You!

I think I'll get Daddy to take me - OH doesn't drive so lets hope it doesn't happen at 4am! :)
