Midnight_Fairy - Tesco had musical instruments for £1 I got some for my operation Christmas child shoe box they had recorders, tambourines and maracas I think. Would you LO's like those ?? Also what about transfer tattoos ? I put them in my gift bags for all the kids when we got married and they all loved them. That and the glow sticks Got them both on ebay for quite cheap.

Studio 24 does pencils with names on from like £3! they are good too...

i just got some fairy dust of ebay, tinkerbell one.. £1! they are lovely come in a little bag and a note saying how fairies done it... you get 2 little bottles!

I dont actually have a stocking for Maizie, i just buy little bits that i call stocking fillers!

growing up me and my brother didn't really bother with our stockings, i think thats why i dont do them... x

I didn't actually do a stocking last year but I got a little bag and put stuff in for LO
I'll do the same I think and put some PJs in, I've seen a mini libary with 5 little books in that I want to put in for her, perhaps some crayons and a colouring book too and stickers because she loves stuff like that.

My mum used to mainly put stuff we needed in our stockings that way they weren't ever wasted sort of thing. Things you might think were boring as a present but exciting in you stocking like pants, socks ,toothbrush, pens, character facecloths/sponges nail brushes, matey bubble bath, sweeties and then one or two small toys. I think I will do the same for Luke. MIL spends at lot of money on stocking and they are full of knick knacks, gadgets and randon things that we never use and I feel bad as she spends a lot. I keep telling DH to tell her not to get us so much.

My sister and I loved our stockings. We were allowed to open them as soon as we got up but had to wait till 7am to wake up the parents for the tree gifts

For my boys (5 and 3) I'll probably have:

pencils/crayons
stickers
Christmas socks (hoping to find some on ebay!)
Chocolate
Tangerines (my mum always put a few in each of our stockings and we always ate them up!)
anything else uber cheap and small I happen to see between now and xmas!

i don't usually bother but, this year i have picked soooo many cool things at carbootsales that i have decided to be a cheap skate and only buy chocolates and use secondhand/carboot bargains for the stockings.
after all... how much longer can i get away with doing this till the children go... ewwww its not new?

save the pennies while you can i say!



also would like to add... have any of you thought about trying hawkins bazaar for your kids (over 3) and OH's?
thats where i go for my DH's things for his stocking! xxxxx
