This may be in the wrong section but there's really no where else to post it. I wanted your opinion on something.

When LO was born we gave her the name Charliee-Anne Williams. No middle name because honestly we couldn't find any we liked. Since she has been born we have found one that we believe flows well with her name: Charliee-Anne Maree Williams.

What we were wondering is, do you think it is at all possible to change her birth certificate to suit? Or is that just out of the question.

What do you girls think?

Not sure about the legalities, but it would be like a proper name change I think?

Also, I think it sounds lovely as it is. THe extra name makes it a bit of mouthful?

Hope you manage to sort it out whichever way!!

Thanks. I definitely look into it.
Maybe we could just call her that casually.
There would have to be a way to change it somehow surely. Its really bugging me :)

Charliee Anne is a two name name so it seems fine without a middle name:flower:

I'm sure it's not impossible to add a middle name... you'll just have to look into the process in your area... I'm sure there is a way tho.

Some religions have you choose a middle name down the road. Like, i'm Catholic & when i was 13 & got confirmation... i was able to choose a middle name (confirmation name). Is that a possibility??

It could be but we're not really religious and like we're christened but I know I'm not catholic. It's Monday tomorrow so I'll just ring BDaM Registry then. They'd be the right people to ring I guess.

I just checked the website and they said that I could get her name changed so long as I fill in a form for under 18 year old, provide proof of idenity (i.e. previous birth certificate) other appropriate documents (I have no idea which ones these are) Oh, and I have to pay $135 fee. Fun.
I don't know if I should do it or just put up with her not having a middle name. We're pretty set on the name but I guess I'll just wait until she's older. Maybe then she can choose her own middle name.

I think because it's a 2 name first name, it's not the end of the world not having a middle name. ANd seffo not worth $135, you can use that for baby stuff!!

as far as i know you cannot change the birth certificate UNLESS you are placed under whitness protection.. you can change the need by dp but i doubt you would be allowed to change the birth certificate

Oh yeah of course. You get supplied with an amended certificate. Which would state that a name has legally been changed. I'm sure you wouldn't get to keep the old one. For example if you changed your name from Sue Smith to Kelly Smith. If they let you keep the old one its easier to get fake ID's. I'll just put up with it. It's not really necessary to have a middle name right now anyway :)

A birth certificate can be changed in the UK i.e change of surname, you can change your baby's name here free up until 1 too.
