We've started narrowing down our list of boys names and we have about 4 that we really like. However, I have a question about one option:

Nathaniel Christian
or
Nathan Christian

I like Nathaniel because he can choose between Nate, Nathan or Nathaniel as he gets older, but... is it just too long with Christian as a middle name? We're set on the middle name, so it's just a matter of figuring out the first.

Thoughts? Thanks!

I don't think it's to long, because Christian is a middle name :) it would be different if it was hyphenated :)

I prefer Nathaniel. I think the combo is fine. Love Nate as a nn.

I don't think it's too long at all!

I don't think it's too long. It flows nicely together :)

I don't think its to long at all and as you say he can always make it shorter when hes older!

Personaly I like Nathan, but thats because its my little boys name and I'm totally biased

Nathaniel is a beautiful name. People hardly ever get called by their full name anyway; he would just be Nathaniel/Nathan 99.95 of the time.

im calling my daughter paige cheryl constance and her last name will be fob's which is double barrelled so she'll have 5 names. i love nathaniel! good choice i say go with it =)

Lovely name, my mother and father made me the proud owner of a 27 letter name combo (8, 9, 10), her only complaint was she couldn't afford name art at 20 bucks a letter!! It has never been an issue for me! Go with your gut!

I definitely don't think it's too long. It's perfect! If you went with Nathan Christian, you'd be sacrificing flow in a major way - it may be shorter, but doesn't sound half as good.

Nathaniel Christian may be a little bit long (but not really THAT long), but it flows wonderfully and gives your boy many options for choosing whatever name/nickname he'd like to go by. A fantastic choice.

I really like the combo, well done! Best of luck.

I think it would be fine as long as the last name is really short - like one syllable.

Nathan christian is too choppy. Love the flow of nathaniel christian though!

my surname alone has 16 letters, and my first and middle make 10 so 26 letters is quite long... I think that it doesnt matter! My hand used to ache when I signed alot of things but now most thing it chip and pin so Im picking nathaniel (its also nicer!)

Thanks ladies! I've been repeating the name in my head for days. I'm really falling for it :)

I dont think its too long, my son has a long name, Quintin William David last name :)
