Names!

So with my first we were very adamant on the names Evelyn for a girl and Blake for a boy. Until I went into hospital to give birth and completely changed my mind on Blake.

Luckily she was a girl and there was never a question with girls names.

Same again this time! We have our girls name, but we can't agree on boys names! I suggest quite a few but OH always says no and wants Blake.

I'm about 90% on Blake.

What do people think to having an Evelyn and a Blake?

It's not for me but I think you'll know whether it's his name or not when you see him!

They seem like totally different styles to me, which is something that would deter me personally, but it's not a big deal to everyone. I would go with a more classic/sophisticated boy's name to go with Evelyn. Blake is more casual and trendy.

These names are all gorgeous! Could your OH compromise with Blake as a middle name? Or choose a classic name with a more modern nickname?

Got girls - Edith Lily or Iris Elizabeth (depends what she looks like)

Jasper would be lovely with Evelyn. Shame we have to consider our OHs when deciding these things!!

I like Elliott for a boy. I think at goes nicely with your daughters name.

I don't dislike Blake either and, personally, I think it sounds fine with Evelyn.

Boo! I think you forget about those sort of connotations/links to other peoples names (or characters names!) our boy is called Jarvis. When OH suggested it to me, I was like er, what as in Cocker?! It then grew in me and I don't think of Jarvis Cocker at all when I say his name.

Hope you agree on something soon! It's tough!

I think Evelyn & Blake sound fine together!

I don't think you should go with a name you don't love though.

It hardly seems fair for you to offer 15 name choices and your OH to insist on only ONE name! I wouldn't be ok with that.
