Depends on the type of diapers you have, I know with BG they tell you not to do that. I personally prefer a dry pail. But here are directions on how to use a wet pail :)

i use napisan but tbh, it doesnt do much for me, what i do is put a little bit of biological powder, just the cheapy stuff from supermarket, into a nappy bucket with hot, hot water, then i let it all mix up then put the nappies in there...leave them to soak for ...well, until im ready to wash them, id say at least an hour though just to get the stains out if u have any, then take them out, rinse them all under the tap, wring them out, then put them in the washer

:)

ps have just remembered some nappies tell you not to soak them, like my wonderoos say your not to soak them for some reason, im not sure why but ive listened anyway hehe, they go in dry pail

I really wouldn't soak anything with PUL

What about something for the bottom of the bin to keep it nice smelling?
I only use the nappies during the day so 2/3 and itll be 2/3 days before ill have enough for a load (unless i wash with his clothes which im not sure about doing).

Yeah I wouldn't wash with clothes. Do you mean to make a dry pail smelling nice or keeping a wet pail smelling nice?

A dry pail smelling nice.
I wanted to do wet pail to save the smell but i dont want to ruin the nappies, so if i need to dry pail id still like it to smell nice

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm does it have a lid on?

You cant smell mine unless you take off the lid and they are under the kitchen sink......some right stinkers in there today I can tell you x

all i do is put some tea tree oil on a muslin n pop it on top of the nappies n i never smell a thing :D

I just put a few drops of tea tree in the bottom, and you can't smell a thing unless I take the lid off, and even then its not that bad ( not considering how rank his poos can be!!!!)

I make my own diaper pail smelly pucks using baking powder, water, and essential oils. You just mix them together till slightly pasty, press them into muffin tins, then let them dry for a few days.

For a wet pail, I've heard you can use soda water. Never tried it.
