Naps - bad word in our house!

Anybody else have a horrible napper?
my son is 6 months and only takes short little naps while feeding.
he used to nap if we held him, but not anymore - plus he is too big for me to hold for long periods of time now
so I am resorting to CIO

today he cried 1/2 hour and has now been sleeping (in his crib) for almost an hour

So i guess it works, but I feel so horrible doing it for naps.
I had to do it at night because he was up every few hours. After CIO he now sleeps 8 hours straight (out of an 10-11 hour night)

I so wish I had babies that like to sleep. but its such a battle.
And I dont want to do CIO - but darn if it isnt the only thing that really works.
My oldest was the same, except he was preemie so I didnt do CIO until he was 3 years old. I was chronically sleep deprived. So with this baby I am doing it early. It works....but its hard.

anyone else have baby who hates naps?

My baby didn't nap at that age. She'd sleep for 10 minutes at a time, a couple of times a day. It was exhausting. We waited it out and fortunately for us, it changed around 7 months for seemingly no reason I used to put her in the moby a couple of times a day for sometimes hours! I found she did ok napping in there

I hope things get easier for you, it's just soul destroying!

Oh man, my daughter hates naps too, she is 5 months old.

Every nap is a battle. She cries before every nap I rock her in my arms every time, but she starts crying as soon as I start rocking because she knows what is coming! If she needs a nap, I just use whatever means necessary....pram, car, rocking, sleep on me, etc...but it is tough.

I don't have any advice as such, just know you are not alone! Xx

My lo was exactly the same, but (I say this very quietly while touching wood!!) she seems to be getting much better, the past 2 weeks maybe I've been able to put her in her cot, give her a kiss and after a bit of moaning she's gone off to sleep, I sometimes even have to wake her. I'm hoping this is for good now as I'd been in tears so many times trying to get her to have a nap, I understand how hard it is

Yeah me too. Hate nap time. She only takes half hr naps which i think is the worst part
