Hi all!

So I got married last summer and moved from NJ to MA. Because of this, I don't have any doctors up here (and it's too far to travel to my old ones). I see my husband's PCP but I don't have any other doctor's. DH and I plan to start TTC this summer, so I think it's time to find a doctor I like and have a preconception appointment.

Technically, I have a Ob that I've seen (upon the recommendation of my one friend up here) but I after having two CP's in Jan and March, I don't really care for continuing to see this one. (He wasn't bad really, but he was a bit dismissive of my concerns about two CP's in a row and also I feel like I should actively like the doctor that's going to be delivering babies for me.) I asked my SIL about her doctor, but the practice she goes to has like 14 different doctors that you can possibly see any of them. Which is not what I want. And then I had one recommendation from a coworker, but I googled the doctor and her more recent reviews are not very good.

Have any of you moved/had to find a new doctor? Do you have any recommendations on how I should go about this? I feel like I've exhausted all my possible sources for a recommendation and now I don't know where else to look. And I don't really want to be going to meet a tons of doctors, especially since our copay for specialist doctors is $40 each visit >.< I just don't know what to do but I need to find someone! Preferably someone who I will like and trust with this important part of my life!

Hi Hun. When I've changed doctors I've asked around on who they see, or you can google doctors and sometimes people review them online. Also, log on to the insurance website and see whose covered in your area and that will narrow it down a bit. Did they really mean you could see any doctor for just regular appointments? The way it works at my OBGYN is that you see your doctor for all regular appointments, during pregnancy you will meet all of the doctors, and when you have the baby, it is whoever is on call unfortunately, but a lot of times that's the way it is.... It's only like 3-4 doctors at my practice though, not 14!
