Since becoming pregnant i hear there is so much you cant do I.e lifting... And things you cant eat, and tablets you cant take, How do you all go about your lives now compared to before you knew you were pregnant and what have u changed in your life now? xx

All that's changed for me is feeling sick and tired all the time! It naturally slows me down and limits what I can eat. I'm veggie and don't like a lot of the restricted foods anyway so that doesn't bother me. For things like lifting, well I just do what I can manage until I can't manage anymore!

Its all really down to common sense. I have two jobs. One at a desk and one ina shop. At the shop i dont life crates anymore i lift single items and place them on a trolley then wheel the trolley. Whereas before i would have made no problem of jsut picking up crate .

When it comes to pills always read leaflet anyway so it will state if you can/ cant take them. OIF your worried ask gp!

Hope this helps x

I lift, push and carry just as much as I always have. I have a three year old who doesnt like walking, I have no choice. Life has to carry on.

I havent changed much, just avoiding the main foods, sword fish and marlin etc. And cutting right back on caffeine and stopping alcohol and cigarettes.

You can't follow every rule otherwise you'd never leave the house!

Thanks everybody i had a mc a little while ago and im trying not to do things that you shouldnt but theres so much red tape its hard to stick to! I only got a job last week the same day i found out and im trying to keep it hidden for a while to but its so hard. xx

I try not to, but I think your body tells you when something is too heavy. I notice things are a lot heavier feeling than normal (like alcohol tastes a lot stronger than normal ... had a cake with rum in it but didn't know until I tasted it, and no one else could taste the rum).

I still lift when I have to. Last night I lifted half of a heavy coffee table because I didn't want DH to do it all on his own. I lifted heavy suitcases up the stairs the day before I found out I was pregnant (that was how I suspected something, my uterus started cramping up every time I carried heavier stuff upstairs). At my worst nausea feeling, I still helped with putting a tv up on the wall.

I'm sure you're fine if you just listen to your body and don't get overly worried. They say don't lift heavier than 20 lb; I'd follow that as much as possible but don't go blaming yourself if you lifted something heavier.
