Need hgs test done can't provide semen sample

Hi all I've have all the blood tests and ultrasounds now just need a hsg test done been ttc for almost 2 years now and I'm so emotionally at my wits end but I can't not provide a semen sample so no gp is helping or really explaining anything to me but I wanted to know anyone know a place in Brisbane qld Australia either it be public or private where I can get a hsg test done with out needing the semen sample given any information would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry for asking, I totally understand feeling frustrated with TTC and all the things we have to do when it is easy for so many others but Why cant you get a semen sample??

I just can't for legal reasons and so even if I get a sample I can't connect it with my medical file so if its not connected to my file so wont know the semen sample is for me to the hsg test so they won't do the referal , also i live in a town hour or so from the city and no where here will take it because will die by the time it reaches the testing clinic in the city so have travel and the person who needs to provide the sample gets severe travel sickness and cant go into the city little alone going to do that and I don't know why I think it's stupid but drs said if I don't get a semen sample they can't send me for my hsg test , what about single woman who just want to check if everything's ok they can't can they I don't think that's fair but yeah they refuse to do the hsg test with out the sample but I'm sure somewhere does and I just need someone to let me know if they know of anywhere that will do the hsg test with out the sample.

I'm sorry, but this is a bit confusing. What legal reasons make it so that you cannot provide your partner's sperm for analysis? I've been wracking my brain trying to think of why. And everything I come up with is DNA related, like you're related? Or like he's married and you're not his wife? I don't know! But regardless, they won't be checking his DNA from sperm analysis. If you have like a real reason, like he's married and for legal reasons he doesn't want a paper trail or some other reason why he can't be documented in your medical records, put his sperm in under a fake name, how will they ever know?

And I regret to tell you that there is no possability of getting an HSG without a referral. It is a legality that all xray examinations - which this counts as - must have medical justification to be performed - hence you must have a Dr referal. I still do not understand why your Dr wont send you for one with out a semen sample as the two are in no way related. Maybe try a different Dr?

I am confused about the "legal reasons" as well. I am also in Australia nd if u need any fertility treatment u will need to give a SA first. So basically u r fighting a uphill battle if u cnt give a SA

as far as living out of town, then where there is a will there is a way. We live 2 hours away from the testing nd hubby pulled over on the side of a dirt road about 20 mins out so we could do the "sample" If u want something bad enough u will find a way

If he wants a child as much as you, then he will find a way to overcome his travel sickness. Like maybe only travelling 20 minutes at a time and taking a long break, might take you all day to get there but at least he can give his sample. Then you could stop over and do the same back.

The only legal reason i can think of is that the person is HIV positive but i doubt this very much as the OP would have it by now from unprotected sex.

I think your fighting a losing battle here with regards to getting your HSG done.

No it's none of those things and I didn't ask for any of the things you are saying and I don't need to explain why all I need is any information about if anyone knows where I can get hsg with out the semen sample

Like I said I am in Australia nd in the Brisbane region nd there is NO ONE that will give u a HSG without the male being tested.

The legal reasons are related to centrelink so that's why and I don't think it's fair they just can't do the test with out needing the semen sample and I've rang around and there is a clinic in Brisbane north that said there shouldn't be any reason why they can't do the hsg test with out the seamen sample so it can be done and the lady said to ask my dr to be referred to a specialist at her clinic and they will send me off to get my hsg done

the issue is you need a referral to do a HSG your doctor is not giving you a referral without a semen analysis hence you cannot get a HSG without a sa.
either go to a different doctor and start the process all over again or see if you can find a private clinic that will do it and you pay for it yourself.

@bell, oops sorry didn't mean to be insensitive. I came up with reasons why so I could answer whether if you had those reasons that you could get around the legality issue.
