dpo (days post ovulation.) and if you period is due I would think the dollar store test would be ok to take and would be correct. But if your unsure I would try a digi or early first response test I heared are pretty accurate.
Each women can have a different luteal phase (the time between ovulation and menstruation).
Textbook is 14 days. My body didn't read the book and it's 11 days.
So, those box tests, usually pick up a + just a few days prior to your period, with a 14 day lp.
With my 11 day lp, I would need to be almost late for a period.
