Need your help ladies! when do you deem okay to buy for baby?

I'm 9 weeks 1 day now, and my birthday is coming up on February 25th. Today I've been told my grandparents are visiting from rather far, and they along with my mum want to take me and DH out shopping for baby things as a birthday gift to myself. By that time, I'll be a little over 14 weeks. I'm just a little bit weary of buying things. I can't say I much believe in the superstition of buying things too early will result in something going wrong, but so many others believe it that I feel a little strange.

What do you ladies think?

It's certainly understandable that you would feel cautious still. Personally I'm going to start picking up gender neutral things and whatnot in a couple weeks. Some people start from the minute they get their BFP others wait until the end of the third trimester. Go with what you are comfortable with.

I think I'm comfortable with it, I'd be comfortable at 16 weeks so I'm sure just over a week earlier can't hurt.

I think its a personal choice so whatever you happy with. I havent bought a thing because I only just got my 20 week scan and for me its still too early but if you feel cool with it then go for it and enjoy it! x

Congratulations on the pregnancy To be honest, we already have a pushchair. We didn't buy it, it was given to us free and we didn't want to miss out. I think we'll be fine to buy at 14 1/2 weeks, if it wasn't a birthday gift from family I probably wouldn't. I'd buy now if I could! but I definitely don't want to before 12 weeks, we've already had so many scares from this little one.

We had already bought a couple small things when we were TTC and then we started buying more after our first scan. It's totally a personal choice. Do whatever makes you comfortable

We started buying as soon as we found out....

We're getting all big things between now and 20 weeks, then when we find out the sex we can focus on clothes and decorating the nursery.

I suppose it depends on your situation aswell, we may be moving towards the end of my pregnancy, so we would have to focus on buying carpets and paying for a van etc.
So anything we can pick up now is a big help....

Everyone is different though.

We're moving too, but much earlier in my pregnancy than yours. We got a house and I do believe we move around the end of Feb so I'll be about 15 weeks. Moving isn't too fun in pregnancy, is it!? definitely don't need the extra stress, but when we move I think I'll probably decorate their nursery since the theme is suitable for a boy or girl. I want to buy everything and decorate right now, I'm ever so impatient!

I didn't want to buy anything for the baby til I knew what she was! My mom didn't want to buy any big things because the risk of maybe losing the baby when I was that early, because I would ask her to take me. But my mom had a miscarry when she was around 4 months, so I think that's why she didn't want to buy anything until we were sure everything was going to be OK.

İm waiting till my 12weeks scan then will start buying. İm also not very superstitious but thibk 12weeks is good to wait to but everyone is different!

There is so many baby weeks here just now, things less than half price, bottles, sterilisers, etc would save so much money but would still rather wait till i see that little hb!
