How long does it take for a test to be positive?

All my tests have come back negative, but the doctor told me I could already be 6-7 weeks. Soo confused. I also look like I'm more than 6 weeks pregnant. When I look down, I can't see my toes!

I thing by week 6 or 7, the test should return positive.

Did you ask for a blood test? You may also ask for a scan. With a scan, they should be able to confirm your pregnancy. At week 6, you should at least be able to see the sac. If you are lucky, you may also be able to see the heartbeat.

Oh, didn't notice that you are in Canada... My sis is in Calgary. I heard that they just do like 2 scans during the whole pregnancy. Don't know if you can ask for more tests to be done. Sorry I cannot be of more help.... Hope you get your BFP soon!

I go back to the doctor hopefully on friday, but my doctor is on holiday until january. This time I think I will ask for a blood test. Thanks for your advice!

Went and got a blood test today, hopefully get the results tomorrow. Any idea what it could be if I'm not pregnant?
