Negative blood test, could I still be pregnant ???

Hi ladies, well the title says it all really !

I had HCG level checked 5 weeks and 4 days after my last (normal) AF and it came back as '2'.

However, I have had so many symptoms I'm finding it difficult to believe I'm not pregnant.

Constant left ovary, groin, pubic bone and hip pain / discomfort on and off, for the last 3 weeks.

Very tired.

Nauseous in the evening (this started a few days ago).

Larger boobs which are extremely sore - feels like someone stabbing me down through the armpit and out of the nipple. Left one first a few days ago and now the right one too.

But the biggest thing is my temps... they have been constant between 36.2 - 36.8 since last proper AF.

However, no +HPT (last one taken 5 weeks and 2 days since last proper AF).

No +blood test; HCG level 2 (5 weeks and 4 days after AF).

Had 'abnormal' bleeding CD27; 2 days pink spotting, 1 day bleeding, 2 days brown spotting.

So, my question (and I'm begging someone will answer) is have any of you had negative blood test and been pregnant or known someone who has ???

At my old job, I saw someone who had that happen to them. Not saying it's common-- it's really not. But that girl, the only way they confirmed it was through an ultrasound. Everything else said negative--- urine, blood and her ovulation charts!

Dont wanna sound harsh but you're not pregnant...blood is very accurate especially after 3-4 weeks pregnant...sorry hun.

my blood tests came back negative too, but they had higher hcg than 2. Finally at 7 weeks one came back pos. But if you had a day of bleeding I don't think you are pregnant.

I had negative bloods when AF was 5 days late and negative urine tests until 13 days late. My bloods at 14 days were positive. When I had my blood tests taken both the clinic and my GP told me there was no way I was pregnant and that I had simply missed an ovulation and it ends up they were wrong.

I calculated bloods were taken at approx. 24DPO (10 days after AF due), what are the chances of still being pregnant ? I'm going to see GP next week to rule out a cyst xxx

I am not sure what answer you are looking for, this thread appears in several sections of the website, and everyone saying much the same thing.

If you believe there is an error in the blood test have it done again, there is no definitive diagnosis that anyone can make via the internet.

Best of luck and I hope you get an answer that you are happy with.

Blood tests are the most accurate.. but i watched on TLC the show "i didnt know i was pregnant" and they all had negative blood tests at the begining until they were in labour so i dont know

well i no exctly how u feel hun i had the same when i first found out. i did a test 2 weeks after been late on, it came back negative so we put it in the bin but something made me look at it and there as clear as day 2 lines so i showed my oh and he was like rite do the other one in the morning so at 5.30 (yes i got up cz jus wanted 2 no) and did the second one postive straight away. so i went and made a appiontment at my docs where i had another test and postive 2. a week past and i was getting pains in my lower abdoman and bleeding so went up 2 the hospital and they did a urine test and it came back negative so they did a blood and my hormone was -1 i was so gutted. they decided 2 scan me 3 weeks later jus 2 see the course of the pain and they found a lil embrotic sack or whatever it is. i then had a further blood test and my hormones was as high as a kite hun.

so my answer 2 u is yes hun u no ur body well demand a scan hun. i am now 15 weeks pregnant and i still been bleeding. hope this helps xxxxxx

Sorry to tell you but you're not likely pregnant. Lots of things can cause your period to be late such as stress. Also, if you're really hoping to be pregnant that can make you have symptoms that are the same as pregnancy. I'd go to the doctor and have it checked out to see if there's another reason your period is late. Good luck hun.

Wow ! this gives me hope. back to see my Gp next Tuesday so hope to be referred for a scan to check for cysts or something. Whatever is wrong with me is not normal and needs to be sorted !!! thanks for replying xxxxx
