Negative hcg blood test..

Is it possible to get a negative hcg blood test done in early pregnancy and it be negative but you r really pregnant?
The first day of my last menstrual period was on November 1st, and no period since then.. i only had sex with my husband on nov 13th and nov 20th.. but im curious to know about early hcg blood testing.
So i could have been around 16dpo when i had the negative hcg blood test result, is there still a chance for me this cycle?
I did take femara/letrozole for 5 days at the start of this cycle, but my fertility specialist from MELB IVF said i didnt even ovulate.. according to a blood test.I think im out, but still needing answers and holding onto hope here......

As far as I understand no it wouldn't be possible to be pregnant at 16 dpo and get a negative blood result.
What kind of test did the fertility specialist do for ovulation? Maybe you ovulated later than normal this month.

I was 3 weeks pregnant and they took blood and got a positive result. I hadn't even missed my period yet but got a positive on a stick and blood. Good Luck!
