Hi ladies :) a bit of back ground... I was LTTTC with my DD took me 5 and a half years I was on B&B for quite a few years!! Until I got my BFP in 2013 had my DD in 2014 :happydance: any how I had one late MC (14 weeks) in 2015 and fell with my DS pretty quick after the MC and had him in 2016... we are TTC #3 and so far 5 months in  and nothing!! Why!! This time round we are going to be using OPK and a fertility app as doctors are not willing to help their approach is basically I’ve got 2 so I can definitely have kids.. :growlmad: ignorant I know! So basically I have secondary infertility :( hopefully I won’t be in the TTC forum for years like prior .. nothing personal that’s why I’m here the support in this forum is amazing so hopefully I’m welcome back!! :flower:

Good luck. I dont understand your Dr's. I have 3 kids and they were conceived very quick and this time it is taking quite a bit longer, but my Ob was pretty helpful and I saw an RE and he never said anything along the lines of me having kids so he couldnt help. He was very helpful and pretty much let me decide what I wanted to do in terms of fertility treatments. For now I decided against any, but may in the future. I hope you can get the help you need, but better yet you dont need any help and you get pregnant asap!

I think it’s because it’s NHS and we don’t pay for healthcare they only provide fertility treatment for those TTc their first. Which I thinks fair enough in a way. I phoned today and asked to speak to my GP who has agreed the most their willing to try is clomid :/ but my body hated clomid first time round :( thank you for replying and I hope I catch soon :) hopefully you do too :)

Maybe it's because you've only been trying for 5 months? It's not considered secondary infertility until you've tried for at least 12 months. 5 months isn't that long and it's still considered very normal for it to take a normal healthy couple up to 18 months to concieve. I wouldn't worry yet. Baby dust and good luck!

Is there any way to pay for your own treatment and that way they will try treatments? I wonder if Femara is any better than clomid as far as symptoms.

True Heather, my OB also told me that she was sure I would be pregnant before the 12 month mark. I am not so sure. She said to go see an RE which is what I did and he never said anything about waiting it out until the 12 month mark thankfully. At least not as far as trying femara. He said it would at least boost my chances each month. I totally would have done it but since I dont have insurance that is any good at the moment, it wouldnt cover it at all and I would have to pay around $700 because of the ultrasounds mainly. And that is just too much for 1 cycle. I know I ovulate each cycle so it kind of seems like i would be wasting my money. It could bring on a better ovulation but I am doubting I would get pregnant on it.

Also, try taking black cohosh with the clomid if you do go that route. The blac cohosh eases the symptoms that clomid brings and actually increases your chance of getting pregnant. You can google it, there were some studies done on it. The black cohosh can be bought at many stores or on amazon. You pretty much just take 120 mg of black cohosh from days 1-10 of your cycle and the clomid the 5 days your Dr says. Definitely such an easy thing to do to help your success if you do take clomid!

Okay went back to my GP today and they aren’t helping! They’re saying if I’m having regular periods I’m ovulating but I know that’s not necessarily the case! All they’ve offered is blood test to check my progestogen:shrug:

I don't consider 5 months of TTC as any form of infertility. Some times it just takes time. I conceived my first two in the very first cycle of trying. My third took something along the lines of 7-8 cycles. It just so happened to take place the cycle we decided to "take a break" and only DTD one time during my fertile window.

Maybe your doctor is feeling the same- that it hasn't been long enough to consider other options just yet. I remember expressing these same frustrations, 6 months in, with my 3rd and he told me just relax. There was no cause for concern any time soon and we would re-evaluate a year in. It wasn't the answer that I wanted to hear, because I had conceived so effortlessly before, but he was absolutely correct. <3

I have to agree. 5 months is a very short time period and definitely not secondary infertility.
Track your temps, take ovulation sticks and keep at it. That way you'll have a good idea if you are ovulating or not.

I'd really advise against going down the route of medication or loads of supplements at this early stage as it could end up confusing things and making your cycle messed up.

Good luck, it's so frustrating but fingers crossed it happens soon.

Joy x

With my previous 2 i only took OPK and clomid this time round we’ve decided to take pre conception vitamins (OH aswell ) OPK and use the fertility app so hopefully you ladies are right :) I know it’s not classed as infertility yet:blush: just hard not to panic  thanks for your input ladies :flower: here’s this cycles OPKs so far started early as want to get a good idea of when I get my surge x

I'm on my fifth try for baby #4, and it feels like we have been trying for a very long time compared to my previous pregnancies when I fell pregnant at the first try. But I also know that it's normal to not get pregnant immediately so I'm trying to stay positive. Babydust to you!
