My LO is ten days old, and I'm starting to stress out like CRAZY worrying about SIDS.

Am I the only one?! I can't stop thinking about it and I'm crying and stressing and worrying... it's very blah.

Any advice? Is this a normal thing? Does it pass?

I'm afraid I don't have much advice as my LO is 5 months old and I still worry about it. Not like I did in the beginning though. You are definately not the only one.:hugs:

mine is 23 days old and i feel the same as you. I dont want to put him down, breastfeeding or sleeping, i want to be awake all the time to watch him. One time i want to use the toilet, cant leave him so i bring him along, guess he was thinking, mom, smells bad.LOL

I did that once, lol... brought him to the potty with me. I've been co-sleeping and read on the SIDS website thing that it's BAD, but then did more reading on co-sleeping and apparently, if done safely, it can further REDUCE the risk of sids because of something to do with apnea and the baby not going into a very deep sleep.

I hope this worry passes or gets a little lighter... I can deal with it just lingering in the back of my mind... not this 'OMG IS HE BREATHING' every second of the day. :(

I still worry about it. A little more than most maybe because my LO wont sleep unless he is on his stomach. But, he wakes up about 6-9+ times for his pacifier so I don't have time to worry too much at night. Now if he goes until 3 AM without waking me for the pacifier, then I freak out and jump out of bed and check on him! Lol.

i think everyone worries bout it, i still do, but not to the extreame anymore, the risk drops after 3mth , unfortually theres nothin u can do apart from ur already doing :hugs:

Totally normal honey. H is 3 and a half months now and I've had to put her in her own room as she outgrew her moses basket and we don't have room in our bedroom for the cot so I spend the night trapsing up and down the hallway listening to her breathe - after first crushing the monitor to my ear to hear her.

I thought I was going mad the first few weeks as I'd be constantly leaning out of bed over the moses to hear her breathe and thought I must be the only one doing this but as soon as you mention it to ANY other parent they all say "oh yes we did that..... Still do actually). It's cos we love them!! :). Congrats on your lo, it gets easier and you'll get more relaxed and less stressed soon.

Xx

Aw thats completely normal!! I remember when Brandon was first born I had to be told to go to sleep because all I wanted to do was sit and watch him breathe! It does get easier as they get older!

Im not saying that I dont think about it, or worry about it, but I dont panic about it to the same extent! xxxx

Very normal, I posted the same thing on another forum when jocelyn was little.. The concern did go down as she's got older but it's still there and tbh I'd almost be concerned if it wasn't there at all, that drive to protect is all part of a maternal instinct!!

It's normal hun, I still worry about it now, but not as much as when he was first born. I read up alot about SIDS to make sure I did all I could to reduce any risk. It does get better hun, as your LO gets older x
