Hello ladies,
My name is Beth and I'm 30 years old. Hubby and I are ready to start a family. Of course, for the first time in my life, instead of being ridiculously regular and predictable, I haven't had a period since May.
I saw my doc who did a pap, blood work, and put me on Provera to try to induce a period. My labs came back normal, but I didn't have a period. My mom was premenopausal at 29 and in full menopause at 34 😔 I'm being referred to a fertility endocrinologist for further testing.
Does anyone have a similar experience? What does the failed progesterone challenge mean when bloodwork is normal? Any idea what I can expect with this specialist? I'm super down at the thought of possibly not being able to have a baby who will be 1/2 'me', ya know? While I am open to donor eggs, I don't even know if if want to go through the process of IVF for the cost vs success rate. Adoption? I'm certainly not against it, I just never thought that'd be a route I'd go...
