New SMA Gold Formula...problems?

Hi Girls, Lily has been on the old SMA Gold since birth, we changed to the new SMA Formula 2 days ago and since she has changed from having a regukar routine of 5ozs every 4 hours to only feeding 2oz every 2 hours or so, it has totally messed up the nice routine we had going with her feeding and her sleep which was suiting her and us to be honest.

She was starting to have regular poos and since she hasnt had one just really bad wind, shes always been quite windy and suffered a bit of colic but it seems worse and shes just sleeping inbetween the 2ozs shes drinking every 2 hours, like shes really lethargic....Ive taken her temp thats fine.....

she does have some thrush in her mouth but it doesnt seem to be bothering her and she is on medicine....could this be it? Im unsure...just wondered what experience other people are having?xx

My DD is 10 weeks old and had the new SMA gold for the past 5 days. She became constipated (only once every 2 days but seemed to right herself yesterday). She had changed her routine about 3 days before the milk changed so I don't know what if anything is due to the milk or is due to just a change.

Hoe it helps to know other babies responses to the milk x

Emily got really windy on the new SMA and has been more constipated on it than the old one, she was much more settled on the old one & whilst she's settled down a bit with it the last few days, she still isn't as regular as she was x

I'm not going to be much use cause we've stopped using the powder, it caused saffiyah to have really bad trapped wind and she found it hard to pass her poo's, it was awful seeing her in so much pain. funnily enough we went away for 5 days and only used the premade cartons, and she was like a different baby, so we've had to go onto cartons full time which is so expensive but totally worth it, she has no trapped wind and her bowel movements are back to normal. hope lily feels better soon hun xx

It's normal for LO's bowel movements to differ when there is a change in their diet while their tummy gets used to it - especially in the first couple of months while their digestive systems are still so immature. Fran was constipated for the first couple of days after birth and her poo was hard for a few weeks then gradually got softer. When we changed her onto hungry baby she became bunged up for a couple of days and again when we started her on solids.

Try giving a little cooled boiled water to get things moving and hopefully it should sort itself out xx

My daughter is 11 weeks old and since she has been feeding on their new formula she has been being quite sick!

My baby boy is 10 weeks+ and has been on SMA gold since week 1. Initially he was very collicy and is now on gripe water for that as I was told all formulas are pretty much the same. He has been on SMA Gold, New formula for the last few weeks and since a week now has been having green poo.

Anyone else experience that?

It's normal for SMA poo's to be green because it contains more iron than other formulas. Fran's poo has always been dark green and I know a few mums on here who give their babies SMA who say the same xxx
