Hi all. This is my first ever post in natural parenting!! :happydance:

I have just started using cloth nappies on my 20 week old daughter. I love them! I am using bambino mio and bought a birth to toddler set. I am really pleased with them so far. They seem pretty good to me. They have only really leaked when dad was putting them on :haha: I guess i have been lucky as they have some dreadful reviews. We purchased the whole kit without ever having tried cloth  which in hindsight was a bit dumb but i got carried away and was keen to get started. Thankfully the gamble paid off!

Anyway, i have a couple of questions as i now want to expand my stash but am still pretty clueless (despite how much i've read in here and elsewhere. There is just so much info and abbreviations and makes i get lost.

1) I need more wraps. Can i use any brand of wrap with my mio nappies inside? Will this impair the overall quality of the nappy? If so can anyone recommend any good makes of wrap?

2) Are tots bot easy fit all in one any good? I have seen a good deal going on a stash of these locally but perhaps should be more cautious this time... Are they very bulky? Bambinos are relatively slim fitting and don't cause her to need bigger clothes.

I am happy with bambino but at the same time realise there probably are even better tyoes out there that are even easier. Some AIO's might be good for out and about and the prefolds better for at home etc.

Can anyone help me out?:flower:

1) The inserts for Bambino Mios are just prefolds so they will work with pretty much any wrap. Rather than impair them, I'd say different wraps would improve the BMs! I particularly like Thirsties Duo wraps - they have a double gusset which is good for containment and they always seem to fit really well. They have plain colours and four nice patterns too so you can use them to pretty up your stash! I also recommend Kawaii wraps which are cheap and cheerful (£5 each but not low quality at all).

2) Tots Bots Easy Fits V2 are very good, IMO, but the V1s were pretty rubbish for us. A lot of people seem to agree. If the ones you're looking at aren't in the latest patterns (check the Tots Bots website) or are described as Fluffle or Bamboo, they're V1s and I would avoid them. The V2s are a mix of bamboo and microfibre. They could be bulky on a little one, but they're not too bad I don't think. I really like them but haven't tried them on a small baby.

We're pretty new to this second time around after not really finding a good fit nappy first time (and running out of cash to keep trying diff. ones) but I'm impressed with the easyfit v2. I had totsbots first time round just the normal ones you use with a wrap and they were ok... I used Motherease wraps with them which came in some nice colours so try those? I got them from babykind :Dx

Thank you both for this. It's very helpful. Will have a look and investigate.
New2bumps, i saw your fab ticker and had to have one! Hope you don't mind! :winkwink:

lol noo I don't mind :Dx

I lied about my wraps lol I actually used Swaddlebees wraps not Motherease _ I did have some Motherease ones and they worked fine but didn't like the designs much! It looks like they're phasing them out though so they're on sale!!!

Who are you and what have you done with crazyfrog?!

Im using easyfit v2 on my 14 week old and finding them great....and one of the cheapest places I have found to buy then new is tesco, they stock them in the big superstores!

We are currently WTT but being the eager beaver and all.... I have started to build up my stash of cloth nappies ready. I have gone for preloved TotsBots with a wrap.
Anyway... A very kind seller also included some fleece liners, are these to be used instead of disposable liners or in addition to?? And will any fleece be ok to make more of them?

:hangwashing:
Thanks Mummyjessie x

Mummyjessie, i am afraid i know nothing about liners whatsoever :nope:

Sorry i can't help. I am clueless myself!

Crazyfrog, as I'm only 2 weeks in myself and I'm seeing so many other mommies starting out with cloth I've done a kind of journal which I hope lots of us first timers and newbies to cloth can use to share ideas and ask questions. There seem to be so many of us starting out - would be nice to chat and share without filling the np board (I feel like the poor cloth experts must roll their eyes when I post asking another question!!!)
Here it is - all welcome :D xx

You'd normally use fleece liners instead of disposable ones. They make it easier to tip poo down the loo as the poo just peels off the fleece (TMI, sorry!) and they also act as a stay dry later so keep baby's bum dry. You could use both together if you wanted but it's probably overkill. And yes, any fleece is fine to make liners. I would get anti-pil stuff though or it will go horribly bobbly, which isn't actually a problem, it just doesn't feel very nice!
