Just wondered if anyone has any ideas how I can help my little man - he is 3wks old and has suffered with nasal congestion since he was about a week old. I asked my HV and she suggeted saline drops which I have tried but they havent worked?? Does anybody know of anything else?? I have elevated his mattress at night too but just doesnt seem to do anything...

She will grow out of it. Promise.
Tobi had it until about 6 or 7 weeks. We used saline spray rather than drops and found that worked.
Then one night he just stopped!

saline spray and a snot sucker, both from boots x

We used saline drops and in addition I used to take him into the shower room with me (in his moses basket) when I had my shower and the steam helped clear his nose.

another vote for saline spray here too! X

I second all of these suggestions. Ethan was exactly the same from about 1 week all the way through to 9 weeks and it just stopped one night. Although he was sleeping well, me and DH were barely getting any sleep as he was so noisy! I can totally sympathise.

As he was getting quite a restless sleep, I found he was grumpy in the day. He sleeps soundly now.

I found this website quite helpful, you should be able to find the products in boots.
xx

are you breast feeding ?? if you are u can put a drop of milk into there nose my midwife recommended that if that happen to my son . try doing that should help im supprised no one else has mentioned that ?

id turn ur bathroom into a sauna by closing the door and running the hot tap and fill ur bath up and sit with lo in there for afew mins.

it clears the airways and is very relaxing, zane gets really ill when he has colds and needs inhalers ect but doing this really helps him.
