Next Account??!!

Arghhh stupid bloody Next. A couple years back Next gave me a credit account with a limit of £250. Being the moron I am, I started to make the monthly repayments but after about 4 months I was struggling so I stopped. To be very honest I kind of forgot about it. They've only sent me one letter chasing me for the money & they haven't called.

So today I see a few bits on Next that I want to buy. So I added them to my basket with the intention of paying for them outright as obviously my credit limit has been withdrawn from me. Ive got to checkout & it says I must log in which I try doing so with my old details & it comes up with theres a problem with your account please call us & it wont let me pay for whats in my bag. So I decided to set up a new account. I used my brothers email address, my new address as have moved since then & all my correct details (d.o.b, fullname etc) I didn't want a credit account, just to pay outright for these few bits. Well the stupid thing automatically gave me a credit account & says the bits ive ordered will arrive tomorrow! It didnt give me a chance to pay with my card or anything. Do you think the order will arrive tomorrow or do you think they'll realise that they shouldnt of given me an account? If they do stop my order can I just pop in store & order in there & pay??? I really dont want a credit account! If they do send the stuff I plan to pay it off as soon as I get the first statement but im worried now! Mehhh

The mid season sale is this wknd though!! I'm sure the order will arrive, they are too big a company to do extensive checks-as long as you have been at your address for more than 3years??

Ive only been at my address for 9 months. On saying that though, when I had my account at my previous address i'd only been there like a month! I just don't want them thinking im trying to committ fraud! I thought at checkout id be given the option to pay outright or apply for credit. Im so annoyed

I think that they automatically give you a credit account when you order online, silly I know.

I would just pay for it in full each time you use it.

Just make the payment for the full amount online then dont use it again? I dont see what the problem is as u could just pay it now even thiugh its gone through as credit

if you have the money you could cancel the order and go in store to buy the things or just wait for them to arrive then pay the bill in full

this happened to me with next and they sent me the huge catalogue thing too with my account that i didnt want! the stuff did come but i then paid and cancelled i think u can do it within 30 days or something? cancel it as soon as you pay xxx

Thanks ladies, just logged on to my account and the amount ive spent has been deducted from my credit so i'm assuming my bits & bobs are on the way. When I get my first statement i'm just going to pay in full & then close the credit facility

This happened to me, I didn't even know what was in my basket, and was fiddling around and ended up ordering it, I was trying to see how to get a credit account, and ended up with a top that I didn't really want haven't ordered anything sence, I've a £900 credit account.. I daren't go near it!

I'd just pay when your order comes then cancel it.

Off topic but how do you cancel your next account?
I have one with a £900 limit but don't use it anymore seeing as I moved house and the muppets require me to autheticate my new address using bank card from my billing address (which is my old address) and obviously all my bank cards are registered to my new address. They won't let me change the original billing address and in short I have to go to the bank change my address back to my old address then authenticate my new address then go back to the bank and change my address back which is pretty stupid and annoying to me lol

i made a new account in OH name to get the £10 off and they wouldn't give him an account, had to pay for it outright.
