Does anyone know much about them? Or has anyone used one?

I'm not registered with a doc at the mo, and even if I was my boss is making it difficult for me to have time off at the moment (I know i'm entitled to time off for the doc but it's a bit awkward).

Are they like a GP surgery only you just walk-in without having to make an appointment?

Or is it like a minor injury service for people who don't want to use A&E?

OH had to go to one because he diddnt have a GP. You just walk in and give them your details and then sit and wait for the doctor to see you.

    Thanks for the reply.

So it's like going to see a Doc but without an appointment, cool.

Sounds silly but I got confused 'cos when I looked on the NHS website it says they deal with contraception, burns, rashes and infections. I'm having a problem with my sight coming and going in one eye and I wasn't sure if they'd deal with it.

Well, I have no idea really, but I guess they are like a doctors, in that you can go to them with anything you would go to the GP for.

We are getting one round here apparently, for people who can't get to the GP. They are putting it on the main hospital site! :dohh: They already have an A&E and an Out of Hours there, so I really don't get the point LOL! xx

You can just go in if, like you, you can't take time off to go to the doctors. In Sheffield ours is quiet through the day but 4+ hours waiting time after about 5.30.

I've only been once. They weren't that great to be honest and there were only nurses, no doctors xx
