Has anyone little ones gone through a night-mare / night - terrot stage?

My DD is 19 months now and she is waking up at 4:10am EVERY morning!!! without fail she is awake and screaming. The poor thing is terrified of something that she was dreaming about. She wakes up and when we go in there to comfort her she is looking all around the room as if to make sure everything is where it should be etc.

My Hubby went in last night to comfort her and she just kept crying untill 45 mins later i went in there and she pretty much jumped from his arms into mine.. than within 5 mins she was calm and ready to go back down to sleep.. Grrrr Poor Hubby... He went to give her a cuddle while she was in my arms and she pushed him away with both her hands :( The poor guy lol i think he was slightly heart broken! :(

Because she cant yet speak to us to tell us what is wrong it is hard cause i dont know what she is scared of... She is also teething but never had these terrors before :( The poor thing..

Is anyone elses LO's doing this or did this?

It could be night terrors, but I always thought those happen early on in the night. When do toddlers start dreaming? Maybe she is having a nightmare. Night terrors aren't dreams, since babies can't dream - they havent developed an imagination yet.

Usually they aren't responsive during a night terror. My LO goes through them when she is overtired. She used to have them every night at 11pm in June and part of July. She had one a few weeks ago to. They are the scariest thing to watch.

oh... not sure.... maybe it is just a nightmare than.. still it is horrible..
She wakes up as soon as we get in there she is awake fully crying.. so she is co-hearant (spelling :( ) but yeah.. just dont know what it is that is scaring her :(

Not sure, but Lyla had a late night last night due to us having a family tea for her uncles 21st, she woke at 4am this morning crying, but by the time hubby had got to her door, she stopped and went straight back to sleep, I put it down to a nightmare, but its funny that it happened when she was overtired, as a previous post mentioned, I'll keep an eye on it happening again... x
