We have cracked the day time and he is confidently using the toilet for both wee's and poos and we are about to start the night time, just wondered where to start
Isn't this something you just wait for them to do by themselves? I think it was about 3 months after Ruby was day trained she just started not wetting her pull up at night. She does, however, wake up to use the toilet once most nights.
I just waited for Ruby to want to use the toilet, as soon as she did use it I took nappies away in the house and she got it quickly. I think waiting for them to be ready and wanting to do it is absolutely key.
Omar is dry at night for 10-12 hours although we didn't start potty training yet. He also wakes up dry after his naps. When he stopped peeing while sleeping he used to wake up after 6-7 hours to pee then he used to ask us to change his nappy.
Hi Toby just did it by himself. We noticed that his nappy was dry for a while in the mornings but we waited until he was ready. He then told us that he was a big boy and that he didnt want too wear a nappy anymore at night. xx
i dont think its somthing that can be learned it just will come with time.
weve just started potty training in the day and some morning she has had a dry nappy and gone a huge wee on the potty right now r potty training is hit and miss but we r getting there.
Im wondering this too, seth has been dry through the day for almost a year, and we noticed that when he was wearing nappies at night they were dry, but when he is just in pants he wees ? I dont understand!! So any tips here appreciated too xx
Amelie trained herself too. She'd wake up at about 11pm asking for the toilet then once her nappy was off she wouldnt want it back on and she never wet the bed. After 3 nights of that I didn't bother putting a nappy on her.
It's something they do in their own time. Niamh doesn't have anything to drink from 5:30pm onwards (her bedtime is 7pm) which helps. If she does drink something then she nows gets up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom.

Same here. Except our cut off time is around 6:30-7 depending on the day.
Pre potty training, I found out that my LO peed in the early hours of the morning, like as soon as she woke up or even during the night when she stirred, she peed.
My LO was dry at night for the majority of time before we trained her.
I think it's up to the child and depends how much they can hold and for however long. Some kids pee 10 times a day, others pee 5 or 6 times a day.
Ruby's got crazy bladder control. She can go like 5 hours in the day. And yesterday, she last used the toilet at 4pm, refused to wee before bed and was dry all night, not waking up to go, just went at 8am when she got up. She isn't a huge drinker, but I wonder if that's even normal! Not that I could do anything about it if it wasn't...
