Nipple Tugging?

My baby is 12 weeks old today (6 weeks adjusted) and she has just started tugging at my nipple. While she is latched on she pulls her head away really sharply. It hurts like hell and I am thinking of giving her a top up with supplement formula which has taken me 2 weeks to wean her off. 2 days supplement free and now I am thinking of going backwards! She has been feeding for 5hrs straight now!!

Hebe still does this now from time to time. Topping up wont make a difference love.

Is it because she is getting distracted? Hayden used to do that if people would start talking, because he was becoming more aware of what was going on around him. It did hurt, but it eventually stopped doing it with encouragement from me, I tried to sit in a room where it was quiet for a bit too. It gets better though

My baby did this for a short period of time aswell. I started taking her off just by unhoking her with a finger and she soon stopped. she does it on occasion now when she's not quite latched correctly and she's just trying to alter or when something distracts her.

charlie does this - i never knew my nipple could stretch that far. He does it if he is filling his nappy whilst feeding or trumping???? xxx

No it is not a distraction thing. Think it's more a lack of milk thing!

i don't think it is a lack of supply thing - charlie lets go of my boob and screams blue murder if he has drank me dry and still wants more!!

So what do you do if they have drank you dry but still want more??

I had been supplementing so now I am not doing that she has started with this so I am just assuming that the 2 things are linked. Am I wrong then? It starts after she has been feeding for for 3hrs or so you see

L. does that too and it's always when he's starting to get bored, I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Layla has started to do the same thing to me... and i can feel your pain!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I dont know what it is but it really hurts I wonder what it is and why they do it

I put him on the other boob hun.

my son does this too and yes its very sore.. for me he does it when he has emptied one boob and its time to go onto the next.
