Good morning!
I may be jumping the gun here, but I am new to the forum and am TTC with our first baby. I thought I might just ask if anyone is in my position or know someone who is. I have not had AF for over a year and it was only induced one time back in November. I bled for just one day and then it never returned. I was on BC for 6 years prior, and went off of it about a year ago. What should my next steps be? I have had some IF testing done and can expand more if y'all wish. I don't want to bore you with a super long post! Hope to chat soon :))

Thanks for the reply! No, I do not have PCOS, I had a transvaginal/pelviv u/s done last week which denied that diagnosis. I had one small cyst, but it was deemed harmless. Will go back in 6-10 weeks to check on it. No fibroids, thank goodness.

Time to pull out the blood work results !

Without a period, there's no ovulation. The first step will be to induce your periods, however i recommend avoiding the BC route as thats likely what screwed you up to begin with. However there are vitamins and herbs as well as medications (depending on which route you prefer) to induce and keep a period coming. Once you have ANY kind of period the next step will be testing for ovulation, and again there are options to induce ovulation.

What all have you had done?
How old are you and DH ?
How long have you been TTC ?
Well, i was going to ask what all you've been doing but i suppose without a period it's a bit of a moot point :)

I definitely wanted to post all my tests, but I didn't want to overwhelm you ladies! I know you are all busy..but here are my tests as of now:
HSG-normal, no blockages
transvaginal/pelvic u/s-no PCOS, small cyst on right ovary
blood work-LH, FSH, progesterone, estrogen, testosterone, prolactin, all within normal limits.
SA-will be done this Wednesday!

I am 27, DH will 32 in May. TTC for 4 months. I know it hasn't been long, but as you all, we are both very anxious! Thanks for all your help:)

Well that is fortunate. I was concerned because no AF could be an indicator of either of those issues. Are you seeing a specialist or are you confident with your current OBGYN? There's got to be a reason, and as Ariannda said - I wouldn't think BC would be the route to bring her back. What BC were you taking for 6 years?

Yes, I do feel very fortunate! I do not wish to go back on BC by any means, however, I am thinking Provera may the next step. I took it once back in November and I bled for one day only, then it never came back. I thought I would wait for it, but my OB/GYN prescribed Provera again this month and I took the first pill yesterday. I was on Loestrin-FE for 6 years.

Well the bad news is it can take up to a year (as a rule of thumb) for cycles to re0regulate, the good news is that you're are not so i would certainly be looking into the various medications available. Personally im all for the medication route and i will take additional supplements as necessary, but imo the medications job is to work so it should. I totally agree with those that are going about things in a more natural way tho

Even from November to now times up ! Time to get the ball rolling here ! Certainly take the Provera and see if that works, id be a bit hesitant as i dont personally feel it really worked for you last time, a 1 day period in a year isn't really what i'd consider successful, and then go from there !

Its interesting your LH is normal without actually having a period. That would appear to be good news, but i wonder how thats affecting things. The other results are certainly good signs ! the SA is a good route as well and im glad thats being done

Are you overweight or underweight ?

Yes, I am surprised at my hormone levels also! I mean, it's great, but also confusing :( I think my weight is a big indicator though, because as I posted this morning on the welcome board, I have had an eating disorder in the past for about 14 years. My weight is now in the normal BMI range, but just barely. My eating has been much better and I am much healthier, mentally and physically. I am fully aware that ED's can mess with fertility a whole lot. I am trying to have faith, though.

Keep up doing the very best you can and work with your Dr. If you dont feel like your Dr is working with you (and it seems like yours is) find a new one and keep the faith :)

Thank you so much!! Hopefully AF will come back this month. The OB wants to try Clomid, since all the other tests look good. But if AF doesn't come back, it's a no go.

Thank you so much! <3 The OB wants to try Clomid this month, since all the other tests look good. But if AF doesn't show up, it's a no-go. Keeping my fingers crossed.
