No BFP til 13.6 DPO - really??

I was just reading this on the Fertility Friend website

They say out of nearly 100,000 women, the average day they got a BFP was 13.6 dpo.

I was really surprised as I thought I'd seen a lot of people on here get their BFP at 9,10,11 or 12 DPO...

I'm 5DPO so of course already thinking about when I can test!

What do you all think?

I don't think that takes into account that alot of those women could of tested earlier and got a BFP too.

Alot of women chose to wait until at least 14dpo so they don't do the squint and faint positive madness (as I do every month!) My personal feeling is that if I was pregnant I would probably see at BFP at 10dpo but as some women implant up to 12dpo then its not always the case.

Its such a wide unpredictable thing, as unique as the child itself, is when it'll determine it showing, you get 4dpo, then you get the 5 month pregnants lol! Mine were totally negative until 5-6 weeks on every single brand xxx

I agree with Dazed125. I always wait to test until the day AF is due- 15 dpo for me. When I do get by BFP, it will probably be on that day. And I probably would have been able to test sooner, but I'll have chosen to wait. I hate, hate, hate testing early and having to feel all down over a BFN. If I'm going to see that, I'd rather know that a whole new cycle is just beginning! So it's probably thanks to all us girls who wait and wait that that number is so high. I too have seen many ladies get their :BFP: at 10/11/12 dpo. (Tho I've also seen tons of BFNs that later turn out to be BFPs.)

I have read that it totally depends on the woman u can get negs all the way upto 21dpo and then boom, bfp. some folk are lucky enough to see it at like 10dpo but its a rare case xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

That all makes sense. Thanks for your inputs, ladies. Well I am 7dpo today so of course I am dreaming of when I can POAS (not for a few days obviously!)

I would love to be able to wait until AF is due/late but I just can't resist the temptation. Being on holidays from work during this 2WW is making it worse too. Too much time to browse forums and pregnancy info online, haha

I was surprised about that too. I'm guessing it's when most people will test because AF is due around that time.

The 13.6 is also an average of everyone meaning that some people testing BFP much later like 16 dpo averaged out with those lucky ones that BFP at 10dpo will move the average somewhere in the middle, closer to 13 dpo.

Today I am 11dpo.. I am pretty sure yesterday I had some IB. I am testing negative. Not enough time if I implanted yesterday. I'm not gonna test again until late tomorrow or wednesday. I just may test both as I have 4 FRER tests left lol ... AF is due on Friday for me.

I love it when you have lots of tests to "waste". Lucky you having IB - I am 7dpo and looking out for that. Did you have it with your previous kids?

Hi with my last pregnancy (which ended in ectopic this year) i didn't get my bfp til 19dpo at 17dpo it was negative then i bled then felt crappy took a digi and it was 1-2 weeks at 19dpo..... and i have 3 boys and all were taken after af was due.... wasn't ttc them they just happened.... am struggling to get / stay preg this time... i think age is against me

Oh wow, you poor thing. It must be so hard knowing you've been able to get preg before but it's just not working for you. Do you mind me asking what age group you're in?

Had my oldest at 17, then 20 the 22.... thought i was done but then decided i wanted another back in october last year so had me coil taken out ( copper one) and been trying ever since..... and now since ectopic my cycles have gone mental.... i normally have a 31 day cycle.... well i am cd32 and still no ov driving me bonkers....am considering seeing gp and asking to be put on pill see if that sorts out me cycles.....but i still wanna keep trying.... so ......

I had a def BFN at 14DPO (had to wait as the drugs from the treatment could have given us a false BFP) but at 15DPO my BFP was there, albeit pretty faint I leart over many years TTC that is i suspected OV then i waited till 14DPO as it saved alot of heartache x

Oh dear, I'm nearly 30 and I haven't had one yet! I hope my time isn't running out. I'd love to get my BFP soon so hopefully I can have two while I'm in my early 30s. I know 35+ things can start getting tough! It's already tough!

Definitely go and see your GP. Maybe there is another option to straighten out your cycles other than the pill?

My cycles are crazy too post pill but I am just hoping they'll sort themselves out!

Hi there

Ive recently got my BFP after 3 months of trying. I test on the day my period was due last wednesday (14DPO) got a real faint positive, so instead of setting myself up for anotehr confused day i waited til 16DPO (friday) and it was still quite faint. These tests were all dip tests, so i decided to buy a digital one that either said PREGNANT or NOT, that way the confusion would be gone lol. So on 17DPO (saturday just gone) i took the digital with FMU and it said PREGNANT 1-2 (apparently the dr's call this 3-4weeks) By this time i was well and truly late for AF.
So i would definatly say to wait til at least the day after you are due as the hormone can double within days and therefore stop the false hope if you have a false negative etc. I know its hard waiting for AF to arrive but i thought if it hadnt happened this month AF would arrive no matter what.

Just relax if you are pregnant a few more days and time will tell

Id say 13dpo is pretty adverage but purely because most dont test till af is due and the ones that arnt activly trying start to notice small symptoms abou then so test on the off chance.
I just had to be odd and get it at 7dpo concidering how mant sticks I peed on though I was bound to spot it early rather then waiting till af

Also bare in mind its only realy been the last year or 2 that tests have become alot more sensative whre as before tests couldnt pick it up till about 21 days.

hey - last time i was pregnant, i got a bfn 10 dpo pm, bfn 11dpo am, faint bfp 11dpo pm, strong bfp 12dpo am then chemical on 13dpo... so its defo possible to get a pos early or one day have a different result to the next xx
