no heart beat at 5+5

hi ,

I was seeing should I be worried at all ? i had my scan at 5 weeks and 5 days - from conception date , is it too early to see the heart beating with my first son his heart was beating at 6 weeks and 5 days-from conception date .

the scan lady said they look for 3 thing the sac ,fetal pole and heartbeat so she said there is 2 so its promising but im still worrying ??? has anyone else had any close experience where there wasn't a heart beat around 5 weeks ish but a heart beat the next time u had a scan ????

any good or bad advice please im driving my self crazy been this worried :/

Yes, I think its too early to tell. I had an u/s done at 5 weeks, and we didnt see a heartbeat either. I didnt see one until I was 6.5 weeks. I think your worrying too much. Its sooo tiny right now. Give it some time.

oh really !!! oh thanks so much yes i do worry more than average thats for sure im happy to know this now i do feel calmer now lol ill be having my next scan in 2 weeks so by then ill be 7 weeks and 5 days (conception date ) so by then there should dff be a heart beat ?

As others have said its to early for a heartbeat. if you had been scaned a day or 2 earlier you may not of even seen the baby. After 6 weeks is when a heartbeat is normally there

I had an early scan at the weekend and they couldn't see the hearbeat. I was gutted and worried but I'm hoping it was just too early. I've aslo got a rescan in 2 weeks so fingers crossed we'll both hear the heartbeat x

That is very early. Many doctors won't even do a scan before 6 weeks because you can't always see something.

Definitely too early to tell hun, i was told i was going to miscarry at about 6 n a half weeks only to be scanned two weeks later with healthy baby and heart beat and again everything fine at dating scan and now im 18 weeks and everything is absolutely fine, so try not to worry too much i'm sure your baby is ok .

BTW i dont want you to worry they said miscarriage because my ges sac had gone a funny shape not because of lack of heart beart alone but later said they may have been measuring something else instead of the sac :S I'm not going back that hospital again lol!

Even by the link above the table shows you wouldn't see a heart beat on average at 5+5 - Chill out, relax and enjoy your pregnancy xx

I agree, way to early to tell! They actually diagnosed me with a blighted ovum at 5+5 because they only saw a gest sac and said my HCG was too high not to see anything. Two weeks later, there was my little bean heart beat and all. The fact that you have a yolk sac right now is great. You will see a heartbeat at your next scan for sure. It took about 2 weeks for them to see mine. Good luck!

you could have ovulated later hun for all you know you are not so far along. I got a heartbeat at 6+1. And i thought i was 7 weeks (date of last period) and the dr put me back by a week. Good luck and dont worry to much.

they shud see it in a few more days as you were a little early mine was seen at 6 weeks exactly gl xxxx
