Hi lo is 4 months and i have no routine when it comes to her feeding. Shes bf and feeds a lot still i dont get more then 2 hour break in between feeds. She does however sleep right through at night. Any one else????

You're doing we'll that she sttn, my lo still doesn't at 6.5 months. I never had a feeding routine with lo either and she was ebf, I fed her on demand and its worked out well. She's weaning now and I feed her in the morning when she wakes, then at about 10am (short feed to sleep, more a comfort thing), then again short comfort feed to nap at about 2pm (although she fell asleep alone today) and a "proper" feed at night before bed.

My lo was the same as yours in terms of feeding a lot, I'm so glad we're onto the weaning stage now and she eats three meals a day and the breast feeding has become less, it can be really draining and I found quite smothering too - lo is a bottle refuser and it kinda got too much a couple of times and I just wanted 5 minutes to have a breather.

I think you'll find a routine comes into place when you start weaning, whenever that might be, I was worried about that but it seems to have been a gradual process where it slotted into place

Xx

Felix eats roughly every 2 hours in the day, sometimes will go 3 if we're out and about, sometimes only goes 1 hour. He doesn't have set nap times. At night he wakes anywhere between 1 and 6 times with no pattern, so I never know what's going on!

At that age I didn't get much more than a 2 hour break, day or night! Be grateful she sleeps through- Robyn has only just started doing that at 7 1/2 months but mostly she still needs 1 feed in the night. We still don't have a bf routine but she has got herself into a nap routine and she eats solids well so I can usually predict when she'll next want feeding and going out is easier.

I'd say you're quite lucky to have a 4 month old who sleeps through the night. My LO was feeding every 2 hours day AND night at that age. Totally normal. Her feeds will space themselves out eventually.

At 5 months Lily has no eating schedule either. She nurses almost all day, she is really little so I figure she just needs to. I have noticed a very subtle shift in her habits though, like if she is playing or at Grandma's house (distracted) she can go almost 2 hours between feeds! It's huge for us, and I hope it continues to space out.

I have no daytime routine for my twins. They drink expressed milk and DS eats frequently (every 2 hours or less) but DD eats less frequently (3-4 hours). They sleep 12 hours at night (lucky for twins) except for the odd night when one or rarely both will wake for a motn bottle.

Wow glad im not the only 1, i just get ppl saying she cant be hungry again, and im like errr yep she can lol. Ive been told by ex mil she should go 4 hrs in between. my dd is a little and often girl. Ive been very lucky she has slept through since 7 weeks and now getting more like 10-12 hrs at night.

I had the same comments! The thing is if lo is feeding from boob (rather than expressed) you can't see how much they're drinking either - it's so frustrating when people give their opinions, especially in my case when they didn't bf. only my nan has said that I've done we'll for feeding her myself for so long, especially as she's a chunk!

You sound like you're doing a fab job

My dd is a chunk to likes her food like her daddy lol. I hate ppl telling me how it should be at the end of the day every baby is different.

What's a routine? Never had one with either boy and both fed every 2-3 hours (or more). The first was day and night. Thankfully my second it's day only and he sleeps better at night Usually until 3-4 am before waking for milk.

I never had routine with 1st we just did whatever until he started school. With dd i try to do a bit of a bed routine just because i have to get her up in the morning for school run.

My older boy is only 3, so still 2 more years before we have to worry about school. He gets up just fine in the morning on his own. I'm the one who's dragging out of bed every morning to get myself ready for work. lol
They've both found their own rhythm and I let them eat/sleep at their own pace, as it were.
