Normal discharge?

Hi there,

I am 6 weeks postpartum and although my bleeding stopped almost completely couple of weeks after giving birth I still have a bit of spotting every now and then, a brownish discharge, and I'm wonder whether this is normal. I remember having this with my first baby as well, I do not remember for how long but I had it for a while.
Also, is it possible to get your period back while breastfeeding? With my first one, I got it after stopping nursing him but just wonder if you could menstruate while still breastfeeding.

I think it's normal but if you think it's different or if you're worried at all then its best you go see your doc. But I'm sure it's just the tail end of lochia...I've hard of it where women have a discharge going on for a good few weeks.

As for periods...not sure but it was my understanding that if you're breastfeeding they don't come back for a few months. Then again I suppose its possible for it to come back sooner!
