Hi there,

Is it normal to be able to feel your pregnancy on one side? I am conscious that I can feel it on my left side, but am worrying as I am not sure if this should be the case. Could someone please put my mind at rest.....share your experiences please. I am just hoping that this is not a bad sign........ :flower: xx

i am too curious about this
I swear its on my right side
it just kinda freaks me out.

at 6 six? I think it is quite soon
I was very sure that the left ovary released my egg coz I felt pain there(for a few hours, I was worried but it dissapeared from a few days) but the right ovary is responsable for my pregnancy, I know that coz it released the corpus luteum.

Yes it is weird. Because this is my first, I am constantly worrying about any ache or movement or feeling. x

I see,
It is as though I can feel the left side, but from what you have saiud, it might not mean anything as you ov from the opposite side. Now I am even more confused:wacko: x

if you have any pain on the one side i would go see doc, dont wanna scare you but could be sign of ectopic.

Exactly!
I went to the hospital yesterday evening just to be sure.
After a pelvic exam and u/s the doctor said that everything appeared to be fine. Except that my hcg is low.

I hate that I have no reference of what is normal. Im a mess,
but the doctor did say that if there were bleeding or shoulder pain I should be really worried, so I guess that the only kind of assurance I get until they can pick something up.

good luck and many blessings =]

that scares me because i feel all my pain and cramps on just my left side.
but i felt my right ovary cramping during O.

it doesn';t matter so much the level you start with, but how it raises! after 2,3 days
also, when having boys, the HCG is lower, not in all the cases of course, it can be something else.

shoulder pain and bleeding occurs in ectopic pregnancies but these situations are extremely rare, don't think of that

that was my case
sorry to confuse you! :hugs:

That's ok hun,

It isn't really a pain I am feeling, it's just that I am conscious that it is on the left side. It's almost like pressure on that side. I have to wait on Monday for a phone call from the docs surgery as I rang to get an appointment today just to confirm the pregnancy etc, and the receptionist said someone would ring me on Monday as it is emergency apptmts today...x

I felt aware of where my baby was from quite early on.. maybe 9-10 weeks? I have hip problems, and they always got worse depending on where the baby was  When I had my 12 week scan, I could tell the sonographer where my baby was.

Hey girls... i think I may be able to shed some light here....

I had an early private scan which confirmed that my left ovary released the egg.
In the last few days I have been using a fetal doppler and have been picking up baby. My Placenta is on my right side and I can pick up babys heartbeat nearer the middle but more on the right side. I havent picked up anything on my left side yet.

So i guess it is normal to be feeling it more on the right hand side. I have had a few twinges, I think more on my left side I think. But twinges every now and then are bound to be normal as there is so much happening down there and your uterus and everything is stretching. Alot of young people get growth pains just as their whole body grows and this growth is alot slower than any sort of growth our bodies are going through right now.

I have heard that its when the cramping becomes constant (and especially when mixed with bleeding).

I hope this helps girls! xxx

that's interesting
i wanna buy a fetal doppler as soon as I can hear a heartbeat! I suppose around 7 weeks

Thanks natz123

It is good to hear people explain positive things about worries and questions. I know everyone is different, but like you say, there is a lot going on down there and as this is a 1st for me, I have no idea what these aches/pressure feelings are. Thank you for your response. Hope your PG is going well x

I've also noticed it more so when I am sat down. I am in bed at the mo with my laptop and have layed down....Now it's not there as such. Bizarre....Pregnancy is a wonderful, but weird thing lol x

Glad I could be a help girls :).

I love having my doppler! Its so hard not to use it every day! Right now im trying not to use it more than every other day, but last night I found the heart beat really quickly so was only using it for 5 minutes max, so I suppose that isnt too much. I heard bubba from about 9+3 i think it was, but i hadnt used it before then. the first couple of days I couldnt hear it in the morning, only in the evenings, since I havent tried earlier on in the day as it was worrying me a little. If you do get one I would just be careful as there are lots of things that sound like a heartbeat down there, I can only be sure when I find bubba because I know bubbas HB is around the 160-170 mark from a private scan I had.

Hope your all having a healthy pregnancy :) try not to get too worried. At first I was coming on here regularly spending a couple of hours each night but it was getting me in such a state. Just remember alot of people who have perfectly healthy pregnancies dont come on sites like these as they dont need the reassurance or support, this forum is full of people who have been through alot because they need the support. Relax girls :) enjoy being pregnant. (easier said than done I know! I am a real worrier) xxx
