Well... This morning I woke up about 5:50am and my stomach felt really, really achey. Like I had a billion crunches the night before, it was just really sore. I tried to go back to sleep after that but couldn't, so I ended up reading a book. Around 9am, I started getting awful stomach cramps, I mean, they were pretty bad. I had to breathe through them and I started crying. They were awful. :nope: I thought maybe I had to use the restroom, but nothing happened. The cramping kept getting worse and closer together. I kept telling myself, "Oh, after the next cramp, I'm calling the OB." But I kept putting it off! :dohh: So finally, I couldn't take it anymore and I called.

I explained to the nurse what I was feeling and she said she wanted me to come into the clinic straight away. So I got dressed, texted OH and told him to come home from school now. Luckily he was in between classes and sped home. We drove to the clinic and checked in. They had me go to the lab and give urine and head upstairs to the OB/GYN office.

So I get there and they had no rooms ready! :growlmad: I had to lay down in a chair and wait for a room to open up. About 20 minutes later it did and I had to wait another 30 for my OB to come in. She came in and immediately listened to LO's heartbeat, which was perfect, thankfully! Then she asked what was going on and I explained. She decided to do a swab and checked my cervix. She said everything was okay and my cervix was still closed but they wanted to monitor baby for a little bit.

So off to the non-stress testing room I went and was hooked up. After being hooked up, they discovered I was having some contractions. LO was fine and heartbeat still normal. They talked to me for a bit and came to the conclusion that I was really dehydrated and it was causing me to contract? They had me hooked up for about over an hour and slowly the contractions went away.

Well, that's about it. They told me to go home and up my water intake a LOT and to take it easy and to call back if it worsened even the slightest bit. I'm still having some on and off cramping but it's not as bad. Really, I'm just really tired and might go take a nap. But LO's okay and that's all that matters to me!

So that was my exciting morning. At least I wasn't in pre-term labor! :)

The exact same thing happened to me and I was rushed to the hospital. They did the same thing to me: urine test, baby heartbeat, and checked cervix. I was dilated a little over 1 cm and I had to stay overnight (this happened at like midnight) They said I was having contractions and they gave me morphine and perkaset to stop the contractions and they said the cause was 3 different things. UTI, extreme dehydration, and the fact that me and OH did it earlier that day irritated my cervix. So I totally know what your going through and it sucks.

The worst part is the pre-term contractions aren't even half as bad as the real contractions so everyone says.

BTW are due dates are one day apart I have 65 days left :)

Phew! I'm not the only one! I know, I kept thinking to myself, "Oh man. I'm not ready for the real deal full blown contractions!"

That's awesome we're a day apart! We should be bump buddies :p

Ya we should! And I know after going through that scare I'm a little more nervous about going through labor than I was before. Do you plan on having an epidural or doing it naturally? I want to do it naturally but I don't think I'll be able to handle it I definently didn't handle the pre-term contractions well at all my OH said i was really loud lol

We should, furshure! Do you live in the states? I am definitely getting an epidural! Especially with this morning, it was almost unbearable!

Ya I live in Wyoming and I think I want an epidural too

haha that's awesome and strangely ironic
