So I had my NT scan yesterday an the fold was 2.4mm and I am freaking out!! :nope: Ive googled and googled and it's on the higher side... The nasal bone was present and the wait for the blood is over 3 weeks. Did this happen to anyone else and all was ok?

Sorry I don't have any experience, I didn't have the NT scan last time, but didn't want to r&r. Bumping in case anyone can share any info/experiences x

I had to google to find out more information on this scan (I never had it done with my two boys)
I found this site which says 9 out of 10 babies with a measurement between 2.5 mm and 3.5 mm will be completely normal !
I think 2.4 mm sounds okay !

2.4 mm is well within the normal range.. The cut off is 3mm and that is still normal albeit the higher end of normal.. Dont worry, and congratulations x

My specialist, with my last, said the cutoff was 2mm but he also said most doctors actually measure the wrong sac as the measurements are very difficult to take. Most doctors in the US are now forced to turn in about 70% of the ultrasounds and measurements they take (with the patients permission) so trainings can be created for more accurate measuring. Unfortunately, there is a very good chance your doctor is unnecessarily worrying you.

Sounds good to me. I've had this done three times, and ive always been told that "passing" the test means getting 3mm or below. My second son's measurement was 2.7 and my oldest's was 2.4. They're both perfect.

My daughters was close to 3mm and she was fine. Hope this helps x

I don't know the exact measurements, but with my son, he measured slightly high or low (can't remember), borderline normal at his NT. They sent me to get another one done and to see a "genetic counselor" and then I ended up somehow with many more ultrasounds throughout that pregnancy. They were never very worried, and basically I think just checked further to double check since it was just "borderline" normal. He had no problems. He's now a happy and healthy 2.5 year old! I think 2.4 is within the normal range

I had a normal NT measurement with my daughter, but the bloods came back with an increased risk. Then the AFP scan came back giving her a 1 in 10 chance of DS. I had an amnio and it came back that she was 100% healthy and she is a 100% healthy 2 year old now. Those screenings are a bunch of BS if you ask me and cause so much unnecessary worry because they aren't diagnostic. They have a blood test now that can be done now at 10-12 weeks that is supposed to be 99% accurate, Maternity 21 or Panorama. It had just come out during my last pregnancy, but wasn't offered to me until I had the positive AFP screening. If you can, get that test. I opted for the amnio because at that time, I would get the results within 24 hours of the procedure and I had already been sick with worry for weeks and needed to know asap for my own peace of mind. Good luck and I'm sure everything is fine!!!
