Nursery fees for kids you have already?

Just wondering what people pay for nursery fees for their kids? There is no chance either me or hubby could be full-time stay-at-home parents, unfortunately, due to finances, so our future LOs will have to go to nursery at least part of the week.

How many hours does your LO go to nursery each week, and what does it cost? It'd be good to see how much to expect, and if the nursery attached to my work is priced reasonably!

My DH works mon-fri and I work thurs and fri.

Our childminder costs us £50 per week for the 2 full days I work

I work 3 full days and pay £35 a day for LO to go to nursery - so £105 per week. Ours is actually one of the cheaper nurseries I found when looking - some were £40-45 per day!

my LO goes to nursery 2 days per week its costs £45 per day so £90 per week

I work 3 days a week, DH full time
nursery fees are £53 per day x3 = £159 per week
that's the going rate for private nurseries around Manchester

Matilda is full time and when she was under 2 we paid £850 per month and this decreased to £785 when she turned 2, I get about £75 off via Childcare Vouchers.

We live in central-ish London and the going rate is £1200 full time per month but our nursery is a Sure Start one and bloody good value for money. That said it won't be easy when we have two in nursery....

I dont have a LO yet but I have had a quick browse around locally. Nothing too indepth. For 3 days a week we would be looking at 500-600 a month.

My little man goes 3 and Half days per week and we pay 30.90 per day and 20.50 for the half day. So a month is close to £500

and that is VERY cheap for a nusery your looking £30 - £45 per day.

We both work full time, we pay £145 a week for child minder 3 days, nursery 1 day (parents the other day). Even though we are on good wages tax credits cover a lot of this.

It is so good to see all these figures, ladies, I really appreciate it! The nursery at my work would cost £166/week if I was full-time, so not too far off all your figures. I can get subsidised fees theough a salary sacrifice scheme but it makes a difference of a few pence per hour, so probably not worth it for the effect it'll have on my pension etc.

As it is hubby has one of his days off during the week, so we'd need 4 days max, and not sure if I'll be going back full-time straight away, but if we can I'm thinking I probably would, as it'd be more likely hubby would cut his hours a little instead. I love my job way more than he loves his, lol!

Not panicking quite so much about the cost now, though as a couple of you have said I know it'll be a struggle to have two in nursery! I don't think we'd be entitled to any tax credits or anything beyond the standard child benefit either. Maybe we'll just have to wait til LO 1 is at school before having LO 2!

Erins is £45 a day, the more days, the cheaper it gets. Erin goes from 7:30 until 2:30 once a week and its £36

I don't have any LOs yet, but in my area the rates are insane. Childcare center fees probably average about $1500-2200 USD/month (home daycares are a bit cheaper). It's already stressing me out!

I work in a nursery and the cost is 42 pounds a day and there is no staff discount so it's really not an option for me. If I have to use paid childcare it will be a childminder instead. I'm hoping we only need to pay for 1 or 2 days a week if at all (i'll only be working 3 anyway) just depends on what we can work out with my bf's shifts and family members.
