Well the reflux saga continues and before the doctor gives her more medicine like ranitadine, he wants us to try this milk to rule out any lactose intolerance.

Has anyone used or uses this? And for what reason?

Would it help reflux or just intolerances? X

He said to use this with Gaviscon x

Hannah is on it as she was sick alot. I know it is normal for babies to spit up but it was very excessive for her and she was dropping percentiles in weight I believe because she wasn't keeping all of her milk down. She was also unsettled and crying most of the day again normal for a small baby but this was excessive again maybe colicky.

We tried her on all the different brands of milk and all the anti reflux and reflux medicine from the doctor all of which made a difference for a short time then she went back to being sick and cranky again. Also sorry for the tmi but her poo was green and sticky.

The HV gave us this stuff and she instantly stopped being sick and stopped crying quite as much I really think it did make a difference but she hasn't been tested for an intolerance as such but its likely that's what she has.

That sounds positive then! I can't wait to try it, I had to go to 3 chemists and none of them stocked it so they are getting it delivered for me this afternoon.

Really hope it helps her as she isn't drinking at all. It's took 4 weeks for a doctor to take me seriously.

Thanks for replying x

Most of our local pharmacies have to order it in specially for us so when we get a prescription we give them it in the morning and they usually get it ordered in that day. We order a repeat prescription once we are on the last 2 tins that is roughly a weeks worth.

Yeah I've been to 3 and no luck! They have ordered it in for me this afternoon so having to keep LO waiting and giving her odd bits of comfort milk.

Does anyone know if this is lactose free? Or is it solely for cows milk allergy? X

Keelan is on neocate lcp which is exactly the same, they are totally dairy free, no lactose or milk protein at all unlike lipil 1 which contains broken down dairy.

Brilliant thanks, can I ask why Keelan was prescribed it? Did they know it was lactose intolerance? X

He was diagnosed with CMPA at the hospital by a pediatrician, my doctors did it the opposite way to yours and went through all the reflux meds before considering lactose intolerance/CMPA:shrug:
