As title says o/h is having a repeat s/a next Wednesday 25th, not really sure why he has to have it repeated because they were happy with the 1st lot? Does anyone know why or is it just procedure ?

I am about to have my fiance's SA done. I only know that the count should be at least 20 million. I know nothing else about motility or anything. However, I was researching antisperm antibody testing and sperm penetration tests. I have to see if the clinic does those tests when they do the SA.

Was his count or motility low? is that why they want repeat testing?

His results on on here some where, his count was something like 80 million, his morpholy was lower than normal but because of how high his count was they said it wouldn't be a problem. So that's why i wondered if it was just routine to do it twice .Thanks for reply and good luck to you and your fiance x

Well, the test is $200 for us, so they better not want two of them!!!!

Hopefully everything goes well and they only need the one, we have nhs here so haven't got to pay like that. x

PositiveUs have you had your results back yet? We went to pick ours up on friday but because the traffic was really busy we didn't get there on time and the surgery was closed, But my o/h is going to pick them up this morning after work so i will have them back by about 11ish uk time :D x

Hi hun my FS likes to do 3 sa's so they get a clearer picture of the count, morph and motility as each sa can sometimes vary widely for instance a cough/cold can effect one sa etc many factors can cause a change in the analysis for example my ohs were- 0.5mil, 28mil, 15mil and now 34mil.
Hope your results are good again please update :)
X

hi,
as per rule 3 consecutive semen analysis will confirm the healthiness of sperm.
so may be doc is following the same.
stress factor and dietry factors and their effect is ruled out.

First semen analysis Results

viscosity: liquid
ph:8.1
volume:1.8ml
total count : 82.5 x 10^9/L
rapid motility : 44%
sluggish motility :2%
non-progressive motility : 3%
immotile : 51%
normal forms:2%

2nd semen results

viscosity: Gel
ph: 8.5
volume: 1.8
total count: 71.0 x 10^9/L
rapid motility: 56%
sluggish motility: 0%
non-progressive motility: 15%
Immotile: 29%
normal forms: 2.5%

over all i think these results are better than the previous ones?
What do you think?
