I saw a few of these types of names on another forum:
O'Connor
O'Callaghan
and on this forum, I saw O'Ryan. Have you heard of other O apostrophe names? Is it specifically Irish? What do you think of them?

I've never met or heard of anyone with an O' name, that I can think of- other than surnames of course. I can't really get my head around them being surnames so they don't appeal to me.

I think even for Irish people they're usually surnames. I dislike them, but I don't think they're too weird.

I'm pretty sure the O' means 'son of' like Mac means 'son of' with Scottish names. I'm not sure it works for me as a first name, though.

I've also only seen them as surnames, but I've also seen names like Conrad as a first name and as a surname.

O'Neil
O'Larson
O'Samson

Yes, I heard some O apostrophe names:

O'Connor
O'Dowd
O'Dours
O'Artagnans
O'Reilly
O'Shannon

I've seen the name Orion before for a baby boy, like the constellation - but never spelled O'Ryan.

I'm a big fan of surnames as first names, like: Presley, Reilly, McKenna, etc.

That being said - I don't like O' names, sorry. :nope:
