okay so this is gunna sound really silly and naive but ive only just moved out with my OH and just turnt 19 and never had to clean a bathroom in my life lol.
but what do you clean with?
i have the bathroom spray and stuff,
but would i use a cloth then throw it away, or a sponge and then throw it away
or can you just rinse the cloth/sponge and use it again?
and would you chuck the rubber gloves too? lol
like for cleaning round the toilet seat and things
hmmm
surely people dont throw stuff away everytime they clean, but it must be unhygenic to keep them? im confused :haha:

This did make me smile. It's the sort of thing you forget you once had to learn to do!

I have a sponge that I just use for the bathroom sink and bath, I use a spray or cream cleaner and keep the bits in the kitchen cupboard under the sink. For the loo I just shove a bit of loo cleaner down and use disposable cleaning wipes for the seat and around the rest of the toilet - they're a bit like baby wipes and can be found in the cleaning section of the supermarket. Happy cleaning! x

Just to make that clear, I don't throw away the sponge, but I do only use it for the bathroom. I only use rubber gloves if I have dry skin but I'd probably keep a seperate pair just for the bathroom. Be careful with sprays while you're pregnant as it's not good to breathe in if you're in a confined space x

i have 2 cloths blue for loo and pink for sink i never get them mixed up that way lol, i use bathroom spray and put bleach down the toilet and give it a scrub with the toilet brush, i have to clean my bathroom 3 times a week i have 4 boys so you can imagine the state it gets, have fun cleaning xx

i always use really cheap cloths and chuck the ones i clean around the toilet with afterwards the ones i use for bath and sink and tiles i bung in the washing machine after x

I clean the toilet with something disposable like paper towels and I use pine sol as my main cleaner for pretty much everything. Windex for glass. I have a steam mop for the floor after I sweep it. I usually use the Clorox toilet wand inside the toilet or just bleach then ajax my tub. No offense to you hun but this is why my 12 year old has chores...because I want to make sure she knows how to do these things when she has her own place but right now she thinks it's horrible :haha:

right thankyou :D armed with that info im gunna go give it a go.

we forgot to buy a toilet brush thinking about it now  they always make me feel ill though, if people use them to wipe the bowl and then put it back in the pot and it just sits there wallowing in its gross-ness :haha:

im gunna use a sponge for the bath and sink and for now use a cheap cloth like you miss cakes but i like the sound of those wipes scuffer so will stock up on them i think :D
OHs got dirty droplet marks all over the wall from showering after work cus he gets so grubby but its on the paint not the tiles so god knows what im gunna do with them eek!

The clorox toilet wand has heads that have cleaner on them already and after you use it there is a button to release it in the garbarge...so it's sanitary :)

lol no offence taken :) i really should have learnt sooner! i spent my childhood playing in horse poo but could never bring myself to clean a toilet. wish my mum had made me a do a bit more as its been one hell of a learning curve moving out learning to iron/clean/cook/wash clothes all in one go aha

I don't use a toilet brush, just put bleach down regularly, it's one less thing to wrestle from a toddler 6 times a day! Why do they always want to play with the most disgusting things?!

I sponge the bathtub and sink then have a cheapy blue cloth to clean around the toilet that I throw away after. I wear gloves too and the toilet is always the last thing I clean then I throw away the gloves and cloth because I just think about it being near the toilet germs

just to add anti bacterial spray and flash is my fave cleaning stuff (mostly like the flash cos it smells so nice lol)

I use bathroom cleaner and kitchen roll so I can throw away, you can get cheap kitchen roll from bargain madness or home bargains! And I put bleach down the toilet so I don't have a toilet brush coz I think they are gross too

Xx

My husband cleans the bathroom ....in this house we have 'blue' jobs (which are his!) and 'pink' jobs (which are mine) ...the bathroom is a saturday morning blue job!

If it makes you feel any better I didn't know how to do laundry! We got married when I was 19 and I moved in with my husband. He did the washing and drying and I did the folding (as it was when I lived at home). Then he got deployed and I couldn't figure out how to start the washer!:haha:

Called mom on the phone and she talked me through it (felt like an idiot, but never having done it before :shrugs:).

I think my kids will have some chores so they don't end up in the same situation (but our washer is very easy where the crappy appartment washer was a lot more confusing).

I use the disposable wipes for sinks/around the toilet. And I use the scrubbing bubble disposable toilet heads (the ones that flush) so I'm not keeping gross things around.

I'm not a fan of harsh chemicals so I use multi-purpose Ecover everywhere in the bathroom with a very rare and occasional use of bleach on the grout. I use a cloth and green scourer and a toilet brush for inside the toilet pan. The cloth is for modst surfaces but I whizz round the sink with the scourer and use it on the tiles too as it seems to work better and leave things shinier. Oh and a scrubbing brush for the shower walls and floor. These days I throw the cloth in the nappy bucket after each use as it's convenient and that gives it a hot wash. The scourer I just replace when it gets grotty. If you are really wanting things to gleam then drying everything off with a towel after washing it makes it super shiny (until you wet it again of course!).
