O/T small rant about others needing to add their opinions

So today it's only 7 more days until d-day, and i posted this as my status "As the little girl from the ring would say "7 days" =P, can't believe it's only 1 week away until d-day Oo"

I had the usual yay comments etc but then my cousin who is 12 weeks behind me decides to add her opinion. "you know babies are rarely born on their due date." Why yes i do know this dear cousin but excuse me for being excited about being so close to my due date! she could come early or late who knows? but just getting to that final 40th week is pretty damn exciting.

Why do others think that we don't know these things?

I see what you are saying - some people just like to add their two pennyworth in and kind of spoil the emotion of it all ..... its almost like your mum telling you off for something isn't it . well i would just ignore your cousin - what until its her turn lol xxxxxxx

I know what you mean. People ask 'how long now?' and when you reply 2 weeks, they say 'well, first babies are usually overdue'. It's like pouring cold water on your excitement! Or maybe we are all overly sensitive at the moment...?

Exactly! she's already had a baby before and this is my first, lol she probably is a bit jealous because my LO is due so soon. We all know a due date is just a guideline but it's a huge deal to us because we are finally at the finish line, don't rain on our parade xoxo

remember what she said to u and as soon as her status comes up whoop only a week to go say u do know babys rarely come on there due date hehehe. i get people do this to me all the time like everyone keeps saying im going till the 3rd oct! so i say whoop 4 days to go all i get its nope the 3rd! grrrr

what a numpty, i am not a fan of facebook, but have it to keep in touch with my bro in the army, there is a girl on there who posts every single day an up date about how sick, tired and fed up she is of pregnancy, i am about 4 weeks ahead of her and i can't wait to put up an annoucement about my baby. she will be fuming she never knew and even more so that it's just before her. he he!
