Anyone have any recommendations for good digital cameras around the £150 mark. Really like Canon's and main thing is image quality and reactiveness/speed. Any advice appreciated!

I dont know prices there since Im in Canada. I shoot with expensive Digital SLR's but I really like the canon powershots, if you can fit it in our price range they are a great point and shoot camera, I know a few people with one and I owned one myself a few years back and have heard only good things about them. I used mine for years and then when I bought my new camera my son started using the powershot and it still works...I think I got it 7ish years ago

Whatever you get, I really recommend something with it's own rechargeable battery. I've had several cameras that don't, and they all eat up a fresh pair of expensive batteries, or normal rechargeables within an hour! You'll save so much money and hassle.

Now I usually use my husband's SRL, but he also has a Cannon Ixus that I borrow for holidays and trips. It's easy to use, takes great pictures, and the battery lasts forever. Can't recommend it enough! Cannon do many good digital cameras.

Panasonic Lumix has been the best digi camera I've ever had.

Olympus Mju - any model, you can't go wrong. My Dad bought me a new 7 mega pixel one with zoom for Christmas last year and it's great. My previous camera was also an Olympus mju that I had when digital camera's were a new thing and it lasted 10 years. Only reason I got a new one is because it was so old the screen was scratched. The camera itself was still working fine! I think the newest models are 12 or 14 mega pixels so even in the space of a year the quality has improved in terms of resolution.

I have the canon powershot sx200 and it is without a doubt the best purchase I have ever made. I mostly use it for animal and portrait photography and i LOVE it :D x

I only shoot with Pentax DSLR's, you might be able to find a second hand one for around that price, they are fun once you know how to work them :) If your looking into getting a DSLR make sure your not one of those people who just stick it on the Auto setting and walk around taking pictures... Its a waste of money of you do that because its just like using a regular point and shoot :)
