OH sperm analysis anybody?

Hi, I got PCOS and Insulin resistance. Been taking 2,000mg Metformin for about 2 months and managed to get my AF over the past 3 months, since I started Metformin. Still no luck at getting PG yet. So I'm going to start on Clomid once my next AF comes.

My hubby has decided to get his sperms checked out, since we've been NTNP for a year now, even though I only had 5 cycles during that time.

Thing is, doctor has told us to stop having sex from last Friday until next Tuesday. Anybody's OH has done a sperm analysis before? What was it like? Did you have to refrain from sex too?

I'm a bit worried about the results of the test, but I know that I would rather know if there's anything not right about OH's side, than not to know.

Any buddies here?

My OH had to do one (I think you're meant to do two for a more accurate result)

We had to refrain from sex 12/24 hours before? I cant quite remember, then he had to do 'it' in a test cup thingy and keep it warm whilst travelling to the hospital - which had to be quick!

I fell pregnant before the second test was taken though.

Hey cheerios! Yep we were told no sex for 3 days before but had to have sex just before abstaining to clear out the not good ones and make a fresh batch x

ineedaseed - Thanks! At least I know that its "normal" procedure. HOw was your OH's sperm analysis? So that's good that we BD just before our 3 days-no sex time.

It was just a stroke of luck hun - and a bit of preseed We'd been trying long enough and I have PCOS too xxx

sb22 - Wow! Amazing then! That gives me some hope! How long were you trying? Did you use Clomid or any of those ovulation pills in the end?

ineedaseed - Oh that's nice!!! At least 50% of the battle is won! Can't imagine having to TTC when both sides have issues... I really hope and pray my hubby's sperm analysis will go so well tmr....can't believe I'm getting sooo anxious!

I was charting for a year, I had a few mc's. I was also taking Agnus Castus but i dont think that did anything!

I thought I'd give OPKS and Preseed a go. It worked each time i tried. Twice! I gave the remaining packets to a friend and it worked 1st time too,after years of her trying!

Really worth a try if you havent yet.

Ok, hubby's sperm count is back. Its 8 million. That's pretty low, but doc says that many men who go to him have sperm counts of less than 1 million, so I'm hopeful.

And good thing is, probably hubby's private insurance will pay for all the infertility costs since he's also "directly involved" in the whole fertility issue now.... and not just my PCOS issue.

Now, I think I need to search for women with OHs with low sperm count to get some support!
