So OH's grandma is severly pissing me off, she makes noises at my child as if he was some sort of animal I can't stand it. It's annoying and my son doesn't like it, makes faces or turns away from her. And when he's hungry and crying she won't give him to me no matter how much I try, she thinks she can make him stop crying, which never works. I tired of her not giving my baby when he's crying and making stupid noises at my baby.

Sorry for the rant, OH won't listen to me.

Mine does that too!! She clicks at her like she's a dog or something and then looks at me like it's my fault when baby makes a face. :dohh:

My grandma is a pain for things like that, especially gawping over him and bumping him up and down saying 'Ooooh hes a fidget' or 'Ooooh hes a fighter' when he is clearly tired (he does fight when he's tired IYKWIM)

It's soo annoying, they think they have some sort of magic touch because they did with their own children, sorry but mothers have the magic touch and your not my childs mother. My mom isn't even that bad she knows when he is crying it could mean cause he's hungry, and she knows he's not an animal and that he likes to be talked to.

I know how you feel. I was livid when Mr Foo told me that some of the noises / phrases his mum uses with Abby, she used to use with their dog. It drives me nuts when she does it now.

meh I dnt have a gran but I know wha you mean people think because they have more children than me they can tell me how to rase MY OWN son... Lucky since coming a mum my temper i in tacked as want to set good expale so so grr when you get that feeling something is going to happen yes you my sons nany but shut up lol

Yesssss. Mine is like that too, so is FOB's mother, I cannot stand it! :flower:

I know what you mean. I'm so tired of people expecting Simon to "perform' for them. They look annoyed when he's tired of playing and starts to fuss, as though it's just so inconvenient that their playtime is being interrupted. When he starts rooting and looking hungry, my family says stuff like "do you HAVE to feed him now? We never get any time with him." WTF?

OH gran is the same, its a constant battle to get her to understand that food does not replace milk yet.
Apparently im wrong for telling them to not give him any more food otherwise he wont take his bottle and I should just leave the bottle then

this one irritates me too! my own mother doesnt undestand that milk is still more important than food right now. She thinks i should only be giving Sophie 1-2 bottles a day! crazy!

I must confess that I 'click' at Daniel, but thats because he thinks it is one of the funniest noises in the known universe

My MIL knows a 'special song that ALWAYS calms a baby down and sends them to sleep'
However, when Daniel starts to fuss and gets aggitated, she manages to find something to do and dissapears!!
I am left wondering at this 'magical tune'! :winkwink:
