hey ladies

So, today (5weeks today) after my lunch the right side of my face started tingling, from my ear and under my jaw line and neck (right side)...i just ignored it at first and it went....then afew hours later I ate a biscut and almost instantly it started, a tingly, fizzy sensation. Not at all painful, just weird. So I sit there and i rub my neck and it feels numb. I can feel my hand on it obviously as I know Im doing it, but the feeling is different...again, no pain just numbness  should I be worried?
I googled it and saw a diagram of the head and the exact area I have this sensation is the 'superficial cervical plexus' but I cant find out why I am getting it after eating and whether it is anything to worry about?
Anybody know anything? Or experienced this? X

So I don't have experience with this but I know body chemistry can change a lot when you're pregnant and you can suddenly become allergic to things you've never been allergic to before and vice versa. I would call your dr ASAP or try to set up an appointment with an allergist and for now maybe stay away from biscuits and other foods with wheat

ah really, thank you! xx
Well it has been everything Ive eaten since lunchtime. I did at first thing allergy but theres no redness or swelling, just the weird fizzy/tingly feeling? xx

Still sounds like an allergic reaction. It could be caused by sugar or salt which are in almost everything. Call the dr ASAP, it could get dangerous if it's happening with everything you eat. The tingling could spread to your throat and cut off your air. Not trying to scare you just want you to be safe

 gulp! Thats does sound scary!! Eek!
I'll see if its the same tomorrow then I think I'll phone the Dr xx

Sounds exactly like what I get before I have a nasty migrane. Hopefully this isn't the case for you but I don't get them often but when I do this is how it starts.
Migranes can be triggered by food as well.
It's just something to consider. Hope this subsides for you.

Meant to say I can get these symptoms days before the headache starts.

oh yikes really! Ive had migranes before, no more than one a year but they always started with tunnel vision, i would go virtually blind, then the nausea, then the headache, ending in me laying in a dark room for 4-5hours Thank god I dont get them often. Hopefully it doesnt kead to a migrane then! Did your tingling always start after you ate? X

I have this happen all the time (well, not so much anymore). For me it's tight scalenes (the muscles at the side/front of the neck). Look up how to release scalenes on YouTube, and I'm sure it will help you. There's a thing called Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, that when your muscles get tight, they press on the nerves and arteries going through your neck.

Hope this helps.

well....so yesterday it hadnt got any better and at about 9am, my whole arm had gone dead and heavy...so i booked a dr appointment..... 4pm i went to the doctors...5pm i was still there! He was phoning and speaking to the tia/stroke docrtors at the hospital! Wanted me to go in for more detailed assessment and possible mri! 1:30am I got home! Sooo tired! Apparently, as sonebody said above, it was a migrane! Took them 6 hours and many prods, pokes, discussions with specialists etc to tell me this. I didnt even have a headache (only a caffeeine withdrawel headache):haha: so i hope its not like you said mrssat and get a migrne afew days later! so yer... We'll see. And the numbness has settled, my affected areas feel at about 98% now...whereas yesterday it was about 85% id say... x

Wow. How scary for you. Glad it doesn't seem ominous.

Hi live in hope. Oh my you must have been so frightened getting checked over for such scary things! I know it's horrible but at least a migrane is the lesser of evils!
Mine can be triggered by anything food, strong smells (like paint) & hormones. I luckily haven't one for ages but what you describe are my warning signs. I worked with a lady who used to loose the ability to speak when a migrane was coming. It's crazy what it can do to you. I rarely get nauseous with mine.
I'm glad you got answers & hopefully these symptoms pass with no headache. Rest up huni your body is telling you to x

oh my goodness! it really is a very scary thought, any of these...i wish doctors knew this instead if saying, it sounds like a stroke, let me just speak to the stroke doctors at the hospital! :growlmad: i did end up woth a headache yesterday afternoon, but as I felt it coming, i took tabs, went to bed for a few hours. Today, i had pressure behind my eyes that i thought, uh-oh..so again, took tabs and it passed. Hoping il be ok at work tomorrow, i feel fine now. At least I know what to look out for now....wouldnt wish it on my worst enemy! I read your post out to my husband about your friend at work....the cheeky bugger said "why couldnt that happen to you!" (About losing the ability to talk) :haha:
