i just mentioned i was starting to write out christmas lists and might start buying bits over the next few weeks and he shouted at me and said im not allowed to think about til november and 'dont you DARE start buying anything!'

I don't mind scrooges, as long as they don't expect the same christmas as i expect without doing any of the hard work and planning.
To sit there moaning and for them to wake up early on xmas day wanting to come down to a lounge ceiling high full of presents, eat home cooked food and treats, and enjoy the day as much as those who plan early really annoys me.

god he would hate me then - I start my Christmas shopping in the January Sales and then buy a couple of things each month to spread the cost. Most of my shopping has been done since June. I even bought all my Christmas Cards, Gift Wrap and Christmas Crackers in the January Sales. Why pay full price just before Christmas when you can buy it dirt cheap 11 months early

im the same i start in jan for the next xmas i bought my sons big present in jan also i save all year round by buying iceland saver stamps wilkinson saver stamps i also do park but only for the vouchers on there and im always on the bargain hunt for things to buy for xmas

I would do it regardless of what oh said, luckily dh is not like that, its not up to him how you spend your money! I agree with the poster above, maybe buy them and hide them?
