We have got to go back to hospital at 9pm as they think my waters were leaking this morning but as I am in a bit of pain right now we were wondering if anyone knows if it's okay to have a bath if your waters are leaking?

I'm thinking about the possible risk of infection.

    Thanks girls. x

I think its fine as long as you don't use soaps etc. I never took a bath but did shower a few times

im not sure but i think they advise against it due to the risk of infection but im not sure at all. i think you would be best phoning the hospital and asking them.

I was always told no but surely getting in to a birthing pool is the same.If it was me I would use no soap at all just warm water. But I think its just to avoid infrction as others have said.Good luck hun xx

Ok this may seem like a really dumb question, but i dont know anything about a water birth. But surely she should be ok to go in the bath, because if there was a risk of infection why would they let you have a water birth?

I had a bath and was fine, but I wouldn't want to tell you it's fine and have you get an infection or something. Maybe check with the hospital/midwife just to be sure!
