My mum and little bro came round a few days ago and he had a rash, she took him to the docs and they confirmed it was HFMD, now my little girl has it, and i think i may be starting to get it, i'll be six weeks pregnant tomorrow, doctors were absolutely useless, so i was wondering if any of you or know anyone who had this whilst being pregnant? im so worried for my baby

I've read that we exposed to that type of virus all the time, and it most likely does no harm to the fetus; it's more if you have it during the time the baby is born =]

My daughter just got over this not too long ago. As an adult it would be kind of rare for you to get it but yet still possible. Keep your hands and your little ones hands washed as much as possible. Throw out all the the toothbrushes and buy new ones... a couple of new ones to use as the virus goes away. Make sure little one keeps very hydrated as she may not want to eat much right now. HFMD hurts worse than strep throat! You can rotate Tylenol and Ibuprofen every 4 hours or just one or the other every 6. I really hope you both start feeling better soon hun! I know how stressful it is being pregnant and having a sick LO. Lots of hugs your way!! Oh and a bit of good news... since she got it now she shouldn't get it ever again. Most kids contract this from schools so at least she should be in the clear once she does start going Hope this is helpful!

i've just had it and so has my lo. they say risk is tiny if pregnant. xxx
