I felt nothing like this with DS. If I'm not eating I feel like I have the worst hangover of my life which has gone on for weeks, and weeks, and weeks!!! (Ok 2 weeks) retch and eat, retch and eat. I just want to feel normal again! I actually curled up on the floor in corner of my classroom today between classes, do glad no one walked in

So sorry you're ill. try some homemade ginger tea. Take a little piece of ginger root, add to boiling water. Add lemon and honey. It works for me but only when the water is hot enough that the ginger can work it's magic. Hth!

I feel you! What do you teach?

I have no idea how other teachers deal with awful morning sickness. Seriously. Despite trying to keep my 'secret,' half the building most have figured it out by now thanks to all my bathroom visits. Thank goodness I transitioned from being a classroom teacher to a specialist a few years ago… I dismiss my students a few minutes early so that I can throw up between classes. (Until about noon every day, I am vomiting 2 or 3 times per hour! The nausea returns after work.) If I were still an elementary classroom teacher, I imagine a legion of concerned parents would force me to make an early announcement. As is, I had to tell my principal early, after I walked past her and my superintendent (!) with a bag of vomit. Charming.

I hope you have a vacation coming up! I have never been more grateful for a break.

I really feel for you, I am as sick as a dog and am nauseaus 24/7 and have been since conception this is my 3rd baby so having two others to look after and take out while you constantly need to stick your head down the loo is hard going! I hope you feel better soon xxxx

Thanks, sorry I've taken ages to get back to this thread, I have hardly even been able to use phone as it was making me want to throw up. Finally feel like nausea is subsiding although I don't want to speak too soon. Teaching is awful with morning sickness. I teach English as an Additional Language so my classes are varied (4yrs to adults) and some are harder work than others. They have had some pretty horrendous lessons the past couple if weeks! I had to tell a colleauge who has free periods when I work so he could jump in as I threw up! Total nightmare. Hope you are all feeling better!

I'm so sorry! Popping in from 3rd tri. I was sick for about 28 weeks and a few things helped me. Fresh air was huge when possible, I also took vit b12 w/unisom at my doctor's suggestion which helped a lot. With that said, sometimes you have to just ride it out (unless you have hypermesis, then you should see a doctor) which is awful I know. :( hang in there Hun!

I have had the same from about 5-6 weeks 😔 I am thankful that I don't actually vomit but the feeling of nausea is awful and lasts all day! It gets worse as the day goes on and is briefly relieved by eating, but only or small amount or that makes me feel sick too 😞 I also wish I could feel normal again! I'm sure it wasn't this bad with DS 😳

all kinds of smells are starting to make me feel ill someone in our office has just made toast ergh the smell is rank and I like toast normally.

I opened some ham to make some sandwiches today that went in the bin, I couldn't even say it was near its bbfd it was just the smell.

Just like with my daughter I feel sick at the smell of fried food and coffee
I thought my coffee addiction might be a problem seemingly not this time :coffee:

I'm a teacher too, and so far I've had to tell like ten people to get a little sympathy. Luckily, they were all very supportive and have been covering for me, but I don't know how much longer I can manage. I feel constantly sick!

my doctor recommends taking vitamin B6 to help w/ the nausea. Ginger wasn't working for me but drinking non caffeinated soda helps..sprite, 7up, or ginger ale. Hope one of those could help. I haven't tried the vitamin yet since we just got back from the doctor yesterday :).

Hey I just wanted to tell you what helped out. I'm 31 weeks and still get sick (not trying to scare you) but my Dr put me on diclegis and it is amazing! It's basically they active ingredient in unisom and vitamin b6. I've heard some ladies get by with just taking the unisom. You take it before bed and you're good to go the whole next day. If you start to get nauseous pop a b6 and you should start feeling better. I've heard a lot of success off ginger, but I can't stomach the stuff. Also, to help me get fluids down I would drink watered down gatorade or sparkling flavored water. I was like you though, constantly felt hungover. Still do if I eat sugar.

I definitely get the hungover feeling. I joke to hubby that I wake up every day feeling like I drank a bottle of wine last night, and I don't even get to enjoy a sip of it!

My doctor ended up prescribing me zofran, since I was having so much double keeping anything down. At first, I was so reluctant to take it, but I will say that it has made such a difference. I sometimes feel sick with it, but I have yet to vomit (until it wears off)! I can drive without vomiting! I can keep my students for an entire 30 minute block instead of dismissing them early and running to the bathroom! The quality of my lessons has improved tenfold, too, since I can focus more on the learning and less on repeating the mantra "don't throw up in front of the kids. Don't throw up in front of the kids!" I am not going to take the medication on the weekends, unless I am at risk for a hospital visit. We will see how it goes.

I hope everyone starts feeling better soon! It can be dreadful.
