on my own with toddler and newborn

I'm scared ladies hubby has just left for work for 2 weeks and am completely on my own in the middle of nowhere, with a hypo 2 yr old and newborn and have no support as family live 6 hrs away...

Used to be alone with my toddler but now with a baby im wondering how im going to cope, Im sure I'll be fine just feeling really anxious....anyone else in the same sort of situation? guess just need some words of encouragement please xx

im a single mum to a soon to be 3yr old toddler and a 6 week old baby.
it can be hard but long as u make time to be with ur toddler ule be fine, ur only alone for 2 weeks x

Thanks, yeah sure i will be ok if single mums can do it full time I should not really moan about 6 mths of the year. Just a little worried about the winter and keeping toddler amused and looking after the baby x

its scary so dont feel like u shouldnt moan just because single mums do it.

make a box of things ur toddler loves, books, certain toys and get that out when ur feeding. dvds for my toddler have been a god send lol

do you have any family or friends around that are willing to help out?

thats what i would do.

i only have one baby and when my husband goes out of town i got my MIL on speed dial!

Also maybe see if there are any other moms in the area... you could do a babysitting swap so you get a little 'alone' time when needed!

dont really have anyone...have friends but they work and my good friends dont have kids so at the weekend they are out on the town and not really up for spending it with me

have a few mum friends around and will try and see them as much as possible x

aww hun im kinda in the same situation! my DD turned 2 today! and my DS is 18 days old and i will be on my own very shortly as OH has gone back to work (doesnt live with me) and my mum who is coming round to help this week will be back at work monday so will be totally on my own then! my madam has really hit the terrible 2's atm so it seems soo much worse than need be! lol xxx

I have an almost 3 year old and a 7 week old. My DH is constantly away on business so I feel your pain! Whenever DH is away I try not to worry too much about keeping the house clean or the laundry done- I just focus on keeping the 2 year old entertained and both of them clean and fed, everything else can just wait! Sometimes I just put the kids in the car and drive around- that will put baby to sleep and I can just have a nice chat with the 2 year old while we look at the scenery!

I have a 5, 4, nearly 2 and 6 week old on my own. I think making sure the older ones have activities to do is a godsend as is a good routine of getting up/nap/going to bed times. I march my lot around like the Von Traps. I think next week I may well hack the curtains down to make clothes out of and frolic across the hillside with them... It sends me that crazy somedays

I was petrified at first, Alex just turns 2 (corrected) this week, but routine helps the toddler understand quickly. Im on my own every tues,wed&thurs. its tough but its got easier every week
